Mechanical Keyboard, where and what?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a decent mechanical keyboard in the R800 -> R1000 price range, So far on the list I have the:
-Steelseries 6gv2
-Razer Blackwidow

Are the other keyboards in this price range that are mechanical?

Also where would be the best place to buy a keyboard such as this in terms of wait time and price?

Thanks,
Intuition

Not sure I would touch the Razer, heard some pretty shitty reviews on it when I was keen on one. I think Corsair also make one, I would go for either that or the Steelseries.

Edit: Then again that Steelseries looks pretty bland. Like an office KB. I would maybe take a chance on the Razer and hope you dont have issues.

WHY the F would you machanical..

If the put a rubber stopper on the key like a normal keyboard it would sound the same.. Its a marketing gimmick.

Het yourself a logitech keyboard. Its like a good pet. Guarenteeed to stay with you for a couple of years till some 1 runs over it :D

I also love Logitech... love the feel of the keys and the look of most of their keyboards.

And to me a gaming keyboard is one that has WASD, and a space bar. :D

I bought one of these and returned it the next day out of pure frustration. The grouping of the numpad keys and insert, home, delete etc drove me NUTS! BUT it is a epic keyboard, I actually kinda miss it. :p

LOL. Bit of a learning curve that yes, but heck I very very seldom use the numpad for anything.

I think it frustrated me a lot back when I got it because I was doing a lot of photoshop and corel work, I guess now it wouldn't bother me as much.

I had a Razer Black Widow. The space bar stopped working within 3 days. Took it back and swapped it for a Lycosa.

I miss the clackitty clack though.

Is there such a thing as a wireless mechanical available locally? Pure curiosity - at this point these things are just too expensive for me
