I'll probably just post in the trading forums and offer to buy someone something worth $5 in return for LA Noire. Receiving it as a gift should bypass the region filter. Just don't want to log in until I'm back home, seeing as I'm currently downloading 2 things there and if I log into Steam here it's going to kick me out there. :P

Yeah, it is. Everything is set to public, so I have no idea why it won't work for me.

Either way, I'm strongly considering using VPN to buy the game. I'm thinking of registering a new account, buying it there and then gifting it to my account. At worst, I can get the game removed from my list.

I do however think that buying another title this way with my account will be seen as not "accidental" hehe.
 
Seems it's available to us now, but when I try to purchase they tell me

'There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction.'

:(
 
There does seem to be a couple of things off on Steam these days.
Usually in the first couple of days when the special becomes available, the links to the store pages doesn't seem to work. The last special I got was King Arthur. When I clicked on the link to open the page, it kept opening the actual home page for King Arthur (not the Steam store page) so I couldn't buy it. Got fixed the next day though.
Also on the Steam browser, during the buying & payment process. The browser basically freezes. I then have to click outside the window and then click back in the window and then it suddenly displays. (The page is loaded, but the display isn't updated).

Not complaining though... it eventually works so I always get done what I want done.

My steam is currently valued at $1397 (80 games). Seeing as I'm quite addicted to Steam specials, that may set to increase as soon as the Steam Summer camp sale starts.
