Battlefield 3 PC discussion thread MK II

And thats exactly why i say HC is where all the bad players play. They just camp and then wait for someone to run past and shoot them.
Its just a case of who sees who first, because people die so fast. You dont have to work hard to get kills.

Eish, we played BFC last night for our DGL game. They won 2 maps we won 1 map :(
Back to the drawing board, gotta work hard on the faults and come back stronger.
very disappointed, but must be said that BFC played well and played very much to their strengths.

Yeah dude they are a good team.

Haven't played ina very long time and I don't plan on playing it again.
BF3 offers a lot of excellent content but it also struggles with blatant hackers and hacking.

It completely fucks up the online play which is BF3's strongest side.

Maybe one day when they figure out to ban these guys then I'll play again.

AA and Rat mouse key binding hack fucked up this game.

Still need a new monitor specially for gaming,my current one is a Flatron W1941S and i'm not sure if it's right for gaming.

What exactly makes a gaming monitor?,is it refresh rate or...

Did you see my post a few back?

Also look at your response time 5ms or below is what you need..... Nothing bigger than 27" or even smaller if you need to turn your head when looking at all corners of the screen (If you do not sit that close to your monitor you can go bigger but I will not recommend) Samsung monitors are pretty good. I have an LG for almost 2 years and np with it 22" and 3ms Response. Its full hd and those days 50000:1 ratio was the one to go for, theses days the ratios are much higher.

Agreed the macro's on the mouse settings to have almost 0 recoil is really meh, and that people do it to try and get an edge saddens me.... It shows no skill.

Whatever floats your boat,i struggled a month or more with this problem before i found a solution.

I tweaked my system constantly and changed driver's regularly to try and find a solution and when i finally did i installed a new OS then applied my solution.(problem persisted even on new OS)

65degC is a perfectly acceptable temperature for my GPU under load. So it's something that BF3 is doing.

The guys are trying to help you, and with BF3 you have to trouble shoot (no-one really knows sometimes) and they are posting about their experiences all I can say is try them all until you find a solution. No harm in that as the suggestions given does not damage your hardware.

I understand that, and I appreciate all help. But I'm hoping for other suggestions as the temperature issue seems very unlikely due to the reasons above and that it is only BF3 crashing.

Dude, stranger things have happened;), just try DC's suggestion, give feedback, then on to the next possible solution...

when the BF3 Beta came out, i had to throttle my 560 TI back to a standard 560 cause it kept freezing my PC, once i throttled it back to stock, it was perfect.

This was fixed with the proper game, but who knows what Dice did in the recent patches.

Cool thanks, wonder if Joker sells monitors.

I've seen guys on YouTube put a no recoil macro on the M16A3,that gun barely has any recoil so i don't really see the point.

If anything people usually put the no recoil macro on the M16A3 and M4A1,if people drop you with instantly at longer ranges with a few headshots then there is a high possibility that they might be using a macro.

Sigh, like i said it was the same for me.Can play Skyrim and other games fine with default clock settings and GPU would sit around 55celsius without any problems.

Play BF3 and it freezes even below 50celsius sometimes.

Things i tried:

Reinstall punkbuster from scrap
Buy a new soundcard (because onboard realtek cards also cause problems)
Buy a USB headset
Disable all sound drivers
Uninstall all sound drivers
Uninstall GPU graphics and reinstall
Uninstall all windows updates (there is one causing a problem on some machines)
Install new OS
And finally underclock GPU which fixed it.

It might be the PSU which can't supply enough power to the factory overclocked card but i don't think EveTech would give me a crappy PSU.

Here is the PC i bought:

Is there some way I can move an Origin game to another HDD and still be able to play it properly... And also... Is there some way I can move my Steam folder to another HDD and then have Steam install onto that HDD instead?

Back up your steamapps folder and install Steam in the drive you want. Copy the folder over to the new directory. Start steam and it should do a few mb d/l for each game and you are sorted. Steam should be off when copying these files.

Same for origin, but when you install origin again ensure that you start the d/l. pause it, shut down origin, copy the files, start origin and repair the installation. Point the origin folder before the dl start to the right directory in the settings tab.

This worked for me on several occansions so feel free to try it. Please note it SHOULD work, Origin fails sometimes I have done it plent with steam without any hassles tho had an issue with dota 2 the other day on a mate's pc.

Alright thanks. I'll give this a try.
