In their eyes you are abandoning them, so yeah most take it personally. A good boss on the other hand would not let his ego/personal feelings spill out so clearly. If I where you Id take solace in the fact that your boss acting like an asshole means he probably isn't one of the 1 in 3 CEO/Manager who are psychotic.

Well I got called into a meeting yesterday and basically in 2010 they sneakily made me sign a share holders agreement where the slipped in a small line that says that my notice period changes from 1 month to 3. Fucking sneaky. My boss is very slick at getting people to sign shit without them being able to read it through. I am fuming.
