Sound Cards

Enlightened End

Yes, hardware has evolved past the need for a dedicated sound cards so CPU performance won't suffer.
But I am looking for higher frequency range than what the on-board sound chip can provide. An external so that
I can interchangeably use them on my laptop and PC.
So anyone bought a sound card recently? And which companies are dedicated to Sound Cards?

Asus Xonar range .

They got one to cater the amount of money you want to throw at it.

Starting at R500 odd to R1400

Asus, Creative, Club3D all make quality sound cards.

Laptop to PC, you would have to get a USB soundcard, Asus xonar U3 would be the best option IMO.

Are the Xonar DSX and DGX available in South Africa yet? My current motherboard has no PCI slots. [bad planning]
