Anonymous has threatened to retaliate after the Ukraninan government pulled down Demonoid

Yes but it was the Ukrainian authorities and probably some White Hats that took it down not everyone's favourite Hacker Collective.

I think the Ukrainian authorities took it down legally since it was hosted there, in misguided retribution Anon members DDoSed Ukrainian government sites. Which could be considered illegal but they would have to find the Anons who did it to press charges.
