quick question: what happens when you die?

The hacker problem seems a "game-killing" issue. I am thinking of getting this, but I am afraid of perma-death and rage at retarded hackers

I played it for the 1st time this weekend and absolutely loved it, but you have to accept it isn't a released game and is going to have loads of issues. An update was rolled out this weekend which seemed to make the game a lot more stable for me. But yeah be prepared to die often, I personally haven't had an hacker issues though. I had an issue where I had just found a nice weapon, closed a door, broke a bone, was pretty much game over for me.

To answer you original question.... what happens when you die? Nothing.... you start over.

Lol what server do you play on? If you come on WAGE Teamspeak I'm always there in the Battlefield 3 admin channel. Just poke me and I'll be glad to help in DayZ too.

After dying with uber l33t gear I could do with a bit of running around collecting things again. There definitely is a stage in the game where one gets too comfortable. And that leads to people killing for sport. I fell victim to that too, but I much prefer helping people out.

Awesome, thanks for the PM and the invites :) I was busy downloading the patches last night and getting everything ready. I suspect that I should be able to get in game in my next attempt and I will definitely then join one of the servers you guys mentioned above :)

The last time i saw a chopper on ZA3 the guy tried to kill me at elektro, misjudged his turn and the chopper crashed in the forest...

On a side note. I was prone under a tree waiting for Wyzak, moved 2mm and my bones broke and I instant died! To add to that the server crashed/restarted so no more guns, map, gear, ghillie guit etc :( not cool

So now who has NV for me? :)

Dude... ive played Dayz since it came out and have only gotten NVG once... and thats because Josh got a spare pair which he gave me XD

Edit:
On a side note, My FAL has a night vision scope... but that doesn't really count XD
 
Lol finally got nailed after 3 zombie kills and 9 murders. The bandit life is a tough one. I think I'll go back to the semi-hostile adventurer life again.

Edit: At one point I was carrying 3 NVG and 2 Ghillie spare in my back pack after some high tech group pvp battles. Then a hacker took it all away :/
