Guild Wars 2

Hey man

It is not our goal to go with a separate server. Our members made a poll this morning before we even came online. They are expressing their opinions here on our guild website. As a guild we will decide what we feel is the best server for us and once we have an idea of what our guild wants we will approach the rest of SA and let them know what our thoughts were and then come back to our guild and let them know what the rest of SA is thinking and perhaps vote again.

We are just finding out what our community wants first and then we can collaborate with the rest of SA.

Rest assured we will go with the rest of SA.

Our members are also aware of the post on gw2sa and have been asked to vote there as well so don't worry :)

ok got my pre-order sorted :D

anyone know if the current files they got will work for the full version? if so anyone in the Toti/Durban area i can copy it from?

Yeah same here, there's a patch almost everyday ranging from 8 files to 10000. But yes the current client is release ready, it is the same client everyone else will be using. There is only one.

A friend of mine already received his Pre-Order key from BT games, and he was able to create an account and login to the account page to download the client. He already had the client but it is the same thing as the pre-purchase clients.

Hope that helps.

Pretty sure there is going to be some patching before launch on the current client, I check every day.

I am guessing at least a 5GB+ patching done between now and the 25th. I am comparing it to the core beta client size and that's already 22GB's+

I know someone else also wanted to change their account details. It is now possible to change it.

I had made a spelling error with mine, but now I could give the correct one and verify my email finally.

EEEEP! I am hoping there isnt a big patch on Friday, or I am going to be waiting the whole weekend for the download.

Nah the final big push will happen around Tuesday or Wednesday, they aren't so spiteful that they would do a huge update a day before opening.

I so hope you are right, remember that the rest of the world has massive bandwidth and I am not sure that Arenanet is going to consider my 60k/s a barrier to hold to.

One thing guys - ANet has posted a list of countries along with the datacenters they are going to connect to - they've been divided into North America, Europe and Other. Anything that falls under Other will apparently connect, automatically to the NA datacenter.

This doesn't really make sense to me, since the BWEs defaulted to the European servers, but I'd suggest being careful on launch :p

E-mail was already sent from GW2SA to Arenanet :) Check below, they will add us under EU and remove us from "Others".

We are definately on EU server :

Hey,

South Africa connects to the European datacentre, so you'll be fine :)

Out of interest where does it say you don't so I can have it corrected?

Hello,

So sorry to worry you, but could you definitely confirm that South Africa is connecting to the NA Server? We have chosen an EU Server Aurora’s Glade, so am I correct that we should then rather find a NA server ?

Please try and answer as soon as possible.

Many thanks

South Africa sells EU copies of the game so we'll fall under EU, kind of like WoW does. :)
