Counterstrike Global Offensive

You might have to wait a week or two before it starts appearing on shelves here. (Uncapped FTW!!)

Scratch that, it appears to only be available via download. Ouch!
 
Why was it not listed as game releases this week - many diehard fans of the King of traditional FPS

How big is the download Mr Wizard?

Good luck getting that right. Also you will need steam to play the game and look for servers so if you hating on steam for buying and downloading then why bother?

Why hate on steam anyways? Its one of the best services the gaming community can use??

My biggest issue is finding out if there are local hosted servers... Google you beast! come hither :D

There is a server browser showing you the servers. I think there is probably almost 40 odd local servers. Not all of them showing all the time but i had no issue getting a game last night for a bit of fun.

Well it is CS just with new graphics and a new abbreviation at the end thus CS:GO. Same gameplay same feel. I was never a fan of CS as i always get klapped but it is loads of fun if the pros are not on the server you are playing on.
 
I bought it a few days ago.

So far my impressions:

This game is bloody difficult. I think I have improved a little bit, but bots own me, let alone other players on the servers. I get so frustrated because I can't even get a shot in and I'm dead. These guys must practice SOOOO MUCH.

The sounds are very irritating. All the weapons sound the same. Hopefully they will sort this out or I can put my own sounds in sometime from mods.

I'm looking forward to some cool custom maps, and I hope some SA servers will use them instead of just playing on dust all day.

Another thing that is a bit annoying is the servers where people just buy snipers and just pot each other off. I see there are some sniperless servers to counteract this foolishness.

Thats strange, I am doing much better in GO than I used to do in Source. Then again, source only ever had Dashur pro. :rolleyes:

The sounds are not great. The "throwing flash bang" "Throwing grenade" gets irritating. I don't remember source annoying me with this. I also feel the weapons don't feel as crisp. I love the AK and M4 in source, they had such a crisp feeling to them. Now they just feel all mushy.
 
I started the download for the full version this morning since the Beta hated me and my Mac. We will see if it works better this time.
 
Well im a COD player so thats mainly why i suck balls at CS. Always have and always will suck at CS but it is really fun to play a few rounds a night with friends. Love it when i spray and pray and end up looking like a boss with 2 headshot kills.

Yeah they are very different games. COD is way more forgiving than CS.
