Diablo III - General Discussion Thread

Ya... As you can see from the post above your reply, I did end up getting a new pair of gloves. I only gave it 15 minutes at first with 2 stacks of Nephalim Valour... The 2nd run through I made it up to 5, but then gave up again when I got d/c'd right as I was about to face the Jailer in Act I...

You know, I have never raged so much as I did this weekend. I had to take Diablo on twice. Why? Because the first time I got him down to about 20% health, then my internet connection failed. Fucking Blizzard with their fucking singleplayer games built on MMO rules.

That sucks, we were just talking about a similar situation this morning. Unfortunately that's what happens with over the top DRM. You bought the game legitimately, and you shouldn't have to suffer because some people somewhere might have pirated the game...

It sucks when one gets disconnected. :( I also had connection problems yesterday. If you want to farm for rare items then the following strategy works quite well:
1) Start a quest towards the end of Act 1 Inferno.
2) Take the town portal to the Festering Woods. Clear everything there, including the mines.
3) When done with that take a town portal to Leoric's Manor, go inside the manor and kill everything in there. Going out towards the start bit of the manor and killing everything outside there.
4) From there you can decide where you want to go next. By now you will definitely have 5 stacks of NV plus some rares. Guaranteed. :)

Mine is slightly different:
1) Start the 2nd to last quest in act 1, Searching for the fallen angel, or something like that.
2) Take the waypoint to Northern Highlands.
3) Clear all mobs while hugging the western (top left) wall, looking for the Watch Tower.
4) If the watch tower didn't spawn, restart. You can get up to 9 elite pack in there, as well as chests and goblins, it's worth it.
5) Clear the watch tower.
6) Clear the highland up to leoric's manor
7) Clear all the way through to the Jailer.

Rinse and repeat as needed.

Nightmare - Ghom dropped a legendary Shoulder Pad - sweet

I play with MF gear on all the time (lvl 50) and get at least 4/5 rares in a 45 minute run.

Nice! Will try it out. :) Will definitely add the Festering Woods to that list though. Always packed with elites.

For a nice short run (for when you don't have much time to play) the dungeon just before you enter the Larder (Ghom) has a high % of goblins and elites as well.

Nice, I'll try that sometime too. :) Man, I'm really enjoying playing Diablo III again. Can't wait to go home and play again!

I see Wyzak is trolling the partner sites too

Whatever happened to your predictions of the game being completely dead at the beginning of August?

Does it matter that people have abandoned the game? Blizzard have their money from us already?

Blizzard is bringing a new endgame in the next patch, and no, its not PvP (although that will be in it too). Just because this is not a subscription based game doesnt mean they are going to leave us high and dry. Whether that endgame will be any good (for everyone) is another matter though

Where do you see this?

Part of the problem, however, is not just item drops, but the variety of things to do within the game. Many of you have stated that there needs to be more to the game than just the item hunt, and we agree completely. The Paragon system is a step in the right direction, giving meta-progress for your time in the game, but it does little to address the variety of activities you can do while playing. I don't think there’s a silver-bullet solution to this problem, but I do think we can make this aspect of the game better, and as such we're planning more than just PvP for the next major patch. Not trying to be coy, but we're still firming things up and will talk about this as soon as we can.

Saucy source - the much hated Jay, skip half way down for the juicy bits. I'm really hoping for an endless dungeon, but who knows what it will be.

Bwahahaha. I didn't expect to find you this far out of the woods. Glad to see you making a contribution for once, instead of just riding on the other guys' waves.

If you think the D3 player stats are looking good, then you should book yourself into some place with pillows against the walls. This new patch has breathed some life into the game again (doubling the amount of hours - or increasing it by the amount of players they lose per month) and I'm glad some guys are enjoying it again. PS. I did say that it would bottom out, but I know it's hard for you to follow things...

Fact remains that this is a lot closer the game that Blizzard should have launched, and not the beta they released on 15 May.

Slightly off topic, it's quite intriguing to see how I have to vary my style of play between DH and Wizard - when I play the one or the other for a couple of days it takes me a while to adjust to each

Personally, I think they're more concerned with getting people to use the real money auction house than piracy...

That's where I normally start, but I'll have to go check out the Northern Highlands. Thanks for the tip!

That's possible. But after the disaster of D3 (imo) I strongly believe that no ARPG game should have such an auction house. I think the reason WoW was able to get away with it so long was because of the BOE and BOP limits. Those really limited what items you could place on the AH, and kept the economy in check.

Anyone else started playing again and really enjoying it? Latest patch is really good imo.

Patch is great :D Finally meant that my monk could do proper burst DPS, Seven Sided Strike has no equal!

Ditto. The difference between my barb and monk is light and day

The watchtower there is just amazing... Can fill up your entire inventory in 10 minutes if you get lucky

Troll some more please  First you call me lazy, then insane, then stupid to round it all off. Bravo.
