The Last of Us - who are Joel and Ellie?

Very off topic, but can anyone explain why on Twitter Lazygamer claims MyGaming hi-jacked their news with regards to this article? It just seems odd, because I can't quite see what they're referring to.

@MyGaming lol you obviously didn't read what we wrote before trying to hijack our news. #fail

Gavin posted this opinion piece regarding the Q&A session for The Last of Us at Gamescom, in which he lambasted Sony for not giving journalists time to ask questions.

Amusingly, at the end of his piece he admits they did in fact give the journalists time to ask questions. I wonder if Gavin was denied the opportunity to ask his questions, or if they simply ran out of time. It's not clear in his article. He does say that:

To be fair right at the very end they started taking questions but the entire thing was already so farcical that we decided to leave and try get some real coverage.

I decided to retweet my piece based on that Q&A session, because people may be interested in reading what came out of that session. That's when I was accused of attempting to hijack their "news" - whatever that means. I wasn't aware that I needed permission to tweet things ;)

Heh, yeah, I read it after his tweet. He responded to one of my tweets, going on about how he's tired of your BS and stuff. Was pretty funny. My guess is sour grapes because they come in a definite second after MyGaming. Also, it's pretty unprofessional of them to go about airing their dirty laundry like that on their site's official twitter account. Just reminds me why I never bother reading their site anyway. :p

And there was drama, drama, drama.

I was under the impression you guys got along well.

The competition is stiff. I don't take anything personally.

I did leave a comment on Gavin's article trying to engage in conversation about the points he raised, but it was deleted shortly afterwards. Guess my comments aren't welcome over there. This is what I posted:

Interesting perspective. I covered the Q&A though; should I be shot? (Don't answer that...) I thought there was a lot of interesting insight into the production process of the game and the dynamic between the characters. The first half of the presentation was structured to give us an introduction to the voice actors and what they went through in the production process. In the second portion of the session we were able to ask our own questions. Out of interest, what were the questions you would have asked of the voice actors if you had stayed for the part where they took questions from the journalists?

Well that's a bit lame, regardless of how stiff the competition is.

So you posted the Q&A and he posted about the lack of an on time Q&A?

Pretty much, yeah. The contents of the two articles don't even match. The only similarity is that they're discussing the same source material. I really don't know where LG's claims of hi-jacking comes from.

Heh, cutthroat world of gaming journalism indeed. :p
