Erotic game "Seduce Me" booted-off Steam Greenlight

I understand the developers argument but I feel Steam has to pull out the pen and draw the line. Porn is porn and I feel it should never be sold at a market as free as Steam. Either start an age enforcement policy and ruin the fun for everyone or push it out.
BTW I'm still offended that they are now selling porn (50 shades of grey) at the Tuks campus bookstore as well as every 2nd book store.

Umm why?

While 50 Shades of Grey is a badly wirtten book that I have no idea why is so popular, why should it not be sold at bookshops?

Yep, keep this crap off Steam. There's a difference between having a game with erotic undertones and a dating simulator.

It's a cultural thing so I doubt there will ever be a single right answer to this situation but yeah I don't think 'adults only' material should be on a service like Steam.

Last time I checked there are no pictures in 50 shades. So why should it offend you? Im sure if you go to the Spar around the corner you can find a magazine that features some busty bimbo flaunting her jublies for all the world to see.

Its only popular because of the men making such a fuss about it on the net, it, like Twighlight, is just another book go to any exclusive books or CNA and there are entire sections filled to the brim with erotic and/or cheesy tween books.

As for Steam Redlighting this I think its the responsible thing to do. There is enough negative criticism of the gaming industry without its flagship digital distribution platform flaunting porn, lets not beat around the bush (excuse the pun) about this.
Im not sure how Steams age verification works but if anything my only criticism of steam would be that it doesn't do enough to stop under aged kids from buy/playing age inappropriate games.

It meets the bare minimum requirements for age verification. Just a quick age verification before you get to the store page, and that's it. I don't even bother putting down my real age because it takes too much time. Just scroll down with the mouse wheel and select whatever I see first.

In that case they definitely did the right thing by relighting this. Would have drawn a lot of negative publicity for steam when parents started getting up in Arms.

Nothing. Which is why it's the bare minimum. Legally, they're covered, but it doesn't help anything anyway because people can just lie about their age.

You don't have to buy it you know.

You don't have to buy it you know.

Those who are really so eager to play games like this can always go buy it on the official site. I feel dating sims don't really have any place on a platform like Steam.

I meant the books but yes I agree.

Player, who has bought this game on Steam has just achieved Maximum Rank by completing the challenge
"Lotion and Tissues"

Is this supposed to be a game or a visual representation of what nerds consider to be Fap-Worthy content ?

The age gate on the store page is one thing, but you need a credit card to purchase games, and typically that means asking mom or dad. I suppose it gets complicated when your Steam Wallet is filled up.

Steam doesn't have any parental controls, so you better be watching your kid like a hawk to ensure that 10-year-old Timmy is picking up something violent that seems to glorify dubious moral actions (GTA 4 perhaps?).

I still don't wont it out there, leave porn to be sold in creepy side shops, be it a book, dvd or games, I don't want to see it out there in the public eye.

Ok lets compare notes quickly....

The cover of 50 shades

yep just like we suspected nothing offensive there, even the title is pretty "grey".

Now here is Zoo

Or maybe you prefer Nuts

And these aren't some sealed adult magazines.

Now you tell me which one is offensive.

Just for comparison here is the average Playboy cover

How is 50 Shades any Different that Game of Thrones? Oh Game of Thrones is ok because its a Fantasy Political Drama so that makes the copious amounts of Sex in it ok does it? Are you offended that they sell Game of Thrones at your local book store?
