DayZ Discussion Thread.

The password is in the thread on the NAG forums, btw. If people still get in an hack with the password being available there, we'll change it and set up a whitelist of sorts.
 
Is Lingor really that much smaller than Chernarus? How's the scrounging around for survival gear (quicker/harder)?

It's a little smaller than chernarus it's like the compressed version of dayz much more action vehicles are a lot more abundant and you can get an awsome kit in like an hour or 2 because of all the military spawns it's a lot of fun you should try it

Yeah, Lingor is about 80 square kilometres, while Chernarus is 254. Chernarus has a lot of empty space, though, whereas Lingor is packed with little towns and interesting landmarks. It's a lot easier to gear up in Lingor, though, seeing as pretty much all the houses are enterable.
 
I played a bit of Day Z after quite a long break from it (GW2 etc).

I must say, the SA community have really become something to behold. 9/10 deaths as fresh spawn with NO gear. Variety of weapons killed me, from M107, to AS50's, to M4A1 CCO SDs. Well played chaps - "GEAR UP, GO KILL FRESH SPAWNS".

That is just retarded. Hate ppl like that.

In regard to Lingor, its a nice map but I think the fact that it is something new also plays a huge roll.

I just wish there would be another Lingor server. I'm not keen on playing with some ppl always on the one available, so I spend most of my time on good old Chernarus.

Also ZA1 has been totally reset. 0 Tents, all vehicles reset. Pretty awesome and I hope ppl can pls keep it relatively hack/dupe free and behave with common decency there.
 
ZA3 and 4 are both full of Thermal AS50's. In one day, we killed 7 different players all carrying As50 thermal rifles. But wait, there's more!
3 Tent sites spread around Chernarus that we came across full of As50 Thermal rifles too. That's why I still believe that Rocket and the dev team should change it so that you cannot store anything but side arms and supplies in tents and vehicles. By supplies I mean food, medical stuffs, map etc. That would totally rule out duping, and it will force players to start scavenging again and not just camping in the hills taking pot shots at everything that moves 24/7.
