You should all buy FTL.

It's an absolutely amazing rogue-like game that for some reason gets harder the more I start to understand the game mechanics.
 
What is a "rouge like" game ?

Pretty much any game that uses permadeath and randomization can be considered a roguelike. Most popular one of last year being Binding of Isaac. Desktop Dungeons being another.

DayZ can probably also be considered to be something of a roguelike, if you squint your eyes a bit.

Dungeons of Dredmor is also a very good one.
