Gaming connection of choice in South Africa

Not surprised about the 8ta packages, they really are cheap and they aren't that bad when it comes to speed.

I am surprised by the little slip in ADSL usage though...

R300 for basically a 20gb cap? :wtf:

Altogether my ADSL, including line rental, costs me about R500 and then it's uncapped as well. Can easily pull about 100gb - 150gb a month.

Main issue with 3G, as I understand it, is latency fluctuations.

Yeah. But I can also take it anywhere, which is why I have that and not ADSL.

I think we should actually see a further rise in percentage now that entry level ADSL is 1mb.

Yeah, we didn't drill down the ADSL connections this time as the upgrades are still in progress. Should be done in time for the next survey.

The survey stats are quite interesting. How often are you guys going to do them? Annually? Every 6 months?

I would like to see this poll again after a year where LTE has been running successfully. From what i've seen the latency isn't bad, meaning it could give ADSL a good run for its money. The only question is how LTE will deal with congestion...

Time will tell.

we`ll see how this changes within the next year with the recent launch of LTE which is said to be alot more stable and wireless
