A little girl walks down the stairs to fetch an apple from the larder.

She notices a pair of size 15 shoes sticking out from under the curtains.

She stands and stares at her.

The little girl has fallen for Phoenix' ruse. :D

While the little girl is distracted by polishing the grubby pair of shoes, the cunning Phoenix sneaks up behind her and doses her with Pimm's Powerful Sleeping Powder.

She instantly falls into a deep sleep.

Phoenix stalks down the passage and into the kitchen.

He spots a bunch of large ripe bananas in a bowel on the table.

He helps himself to the banana, drapes a rug over the sleeping girl and
leaves the house.

On his way to The Snoring Cockatrice Tavern, he finds a blob of quivering protoplasm, scoops it up and carefully places it into his sample bag.

He sees to it that the bag is sent to the Academy of Alchemy and enters the tavern with Roxanne.

Ordering tankards of lemonade, they discuss the disappearance of the Duke's daughter.
