Guild Wars 2

Well hopefully Anet will make the ascended gear an advantage for those who have it, but not a necessity for those who don't. From what I can see, it looks like the ascended gear only gives you a better advantage in the dungeons. I just hope you don't get flat out wiped in seconds if you don't have the ascended gear in the new dungeons.

Well after a certain dept into the dungeon you won't be able to go further without it.

Most likely yeah, but hopefully you don't need it for the first few stages so you at least have time to build up the gear as you go along

The thing comes down they underestimated the hardcore MMO players that can reach level 80 in 2 day's, and the only thing left is for them to grind gear because thats what they want and also the first to complain about farming gear.

Tough shit? The game isn't made for grinding gear. There is a lot better end game content and if you want a typical gear grinding mmo, go play wow or aion.

If you guys visit the wiki, they put up most of the content that the November patch will bring in:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/The_Lost_Shores

And for everyone who is amped for the new dungeon, mmorpg.com posted the following:
Fractals of the Mist Dungeon
The ‘Fractals of the Mist’ dungeon is a result of all the lessons ArenaNet has learned from developing the game’s initial dungeon offerings as well as the feedback they’ve received from players on dungeon content since launch. Players will enter the Fractals of the Mist dungeon via a central hub that will feature an assortment of amenities such as repair NPCs and other merchants. Once players have gathered their party members, they will be launched into one of the nine ‘fractals’ that will be randomly selected for each group.
Each fractal’s experience will be similar to that of the various mini-dungeons littered throughout the open world of Guild Wars 2. These fractals will feature a variety of challenges, puzzles, and boss fights, with an emphasis placed on use of the environment. Players can expect each fractal to take anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes to complete and the game will throw you through a series of three fractals, from one to the next, before returning you to town. Every other set of three fractals that players complete will initiate a special boss fight along the lines of Tequatl the Sunless or The Shatterer.
Once players return to town, future entries into the dungeon will scale to become harder than the last. The amount of enemies players will face will increase as will their health and damage, for example. Of course, you can also expect commensurate rewards for completing harder versions of the dungeon.
Speaking of rewards, the Fractals of the Mist Dungeon will introduce the new ‘Ascended' item type. This type is a bit more powerful than the Exotic quality items currently found in the game. There will only be a couple of Ascended quality items available initially, but some of the rarer Ascended items will also feature a new Infusion slot that will make players even more powerful so that they can tackle new challenges that ArenaNet plans to throw at them as they continue to expand on the dungeon over the coming months and years.

Kinda funny you should say that - Aion's bringing in new classes for their version 4.0 release. I might hop into it a bit again to check them out and maybe level a new char, but - meh for the grinding. Still having tons of fun in GW - especially since there's still so much I have to see and do. I'm only on 51% map completion now.

I always loved that about GW, you can take it seriously or casually and still have loads of fun playing.

Man I can't wait do try those dungeons we have a lekker team going to do the dungeons now if only we could get isengard back hahaha :D

15min haha waits for all the bitching threads on guildwars forums.

I haven't really touched the game since mid September...

Decided to take a break from the game until all (or most) of the broke shit got fixed and some more content got added. I know it was the first month etc. of release so bugs are to be expected.

I will probably hop on this week and try the Lost Shores events, since I missed all of Halloween except for some random running around with a buddy.

Waco we do need to make a plan tho to swop more people into the runs when we are all online. If you guys want to do more than one run swop at least one or two people out so that the few of us who are online gets a chance.

Haha! I'll be back as soon as that new content is in, I'm enjoying AC3 too much right now. :D

Problem is, it's kinda hard to play with only light armoured characters or without someone who's gone for a tanky role. So in other words isen is going to have to do it all haha, and so far I know it'll still escalate for everyone if the majority has done it before.

Another update about the ascended gear from Anet:

Our Studio Design Director Chris Whiteside just posted this:
“I’d like to respond to concerns players have raised about ascended items. Please keep in mind that we’re releasing this as one portion of a massive November update that introduces and improves many aspects of challenge, progression, and rewards. With this and upcoming updates, we view ourselves as introducing large amounts of content with supporting systems and features, akin to an expansion pack, building on Guild Wars 2 through a series of live releases. So it’s important for us to be able to add an expansion pack’s worth of progression and rewards to support that content.
Our goal is not to create a gear treadmill. Our goal is to ensure we have a proper progression for players from exotic up to legendary without a massive jump in reward between the two. We will slowly add the remaining ascended gear items and legendary items in future updates to allow people time to acquire them as we add exciting new content that deserves exciting rewards. We will not be adding a new tier of gear every 3 months that we expect everyone to chase after and then get the next set and so on.
Ascended and infusion rewards will be available in both PvE and WvW over time, and be made available through all sorts of content around the world including existing content. PvP will remain unaffected to ensure our intended PvP balance going forward. We are also working on other reward and progression systems for the game that tie into current and new content and features. As you know we care very much about your support and opinion and are listening intently to what you say.
Finally we look forward to hearing your thoughts on the upcoming content, and we will ensure we share our thoughts with you on the experiences we share in the Lost Shores."

Wyvern we always extend out to guildies first.
We have fox that don't do dungeons on weekday's then we have you, nima and grlodit. Then all the rest are not high enough or just not really saying hello or talking to us. Since 3 of you are light armor its hard taking all 3 at the same time. Isen can probably take you lot he is good in the class my warrior is okay but don't provide a bit of healing so we go down fast.

Well ... once I complete my Temple of Zephyr set I should be able to back up on healing, but then my already wimpy DPS levels are going to drop through the floor. Although to be completely honest I'm getting the set more for looks than anything else.

That being said - now that I've gotten past all my university crap for the year I'll probably be on a little later some evenings during the week. So maybe once a week I'll stay on for a dungeon run - I definitely need to get some of the other dungeons under my belt at some point.

Don't get me wrong you don't have to spec into healing its just that regen of 200-300hp really helps in some fights.
Dungeons take about 40min if nothing goes wrong and about 90min if it does.

Waco I know :) Im just saying if you guys want to do more than one run a night swop some dps out - otherwise you guys will be gatvol of the dungeons and some others wont get the badges they need.
I am leveling my guardian so we have more heavy armor to do the runs with.
