Origin cpu usage

Hey

So has anyone else had this thing where origin idles fine at say 0.5% CPU usage and then after you play a game it idles at 25% usage....it makes no sense?

the Google machine shows many such complaints.

How do i fixorz it, and if I uninstall how do I backup my stuff im used to steam that's easy enough

I haven't seen what you are seeing, but I haven't really paid close attention to it.

What I can however tell you is that my heatsink was faulty for about two years, and no game ever picked it up as an issue. BF3 was the only game to pick up the issue by crashing. Which shows you that BF3 (Origin) is a lot more CPU intensive than anything else that I have played in the last two years.

So I removed the main and program data(bad idea) origin folders and re-installed, but alas still doing this,im going to try it with the origin in game feature turned off. Also its using the extra 25% cpu while the game is running so that sucks.

no other takers on this issue,oh ea chat support is useless just by the way

I have not noticed it at all? I play BF3 on Ultra, 1080p and CPU has never been a problem. (i5 2500k @4.3ghz)

Downclock?

Yep,slightly.
Not sure if it's the heat or it just doesn't like the factory overclock.
My heatsinks work properly but the heat spikes up and then BF3 freezes forcing me to shut down my PC.Took a whole month to figure out how to solve the issue.

That would piss me off. Sounds like a defect

Not really, the card is factory overclocked.I think Nvidia released drivers to fix the problem with their card but i still downclock my card each time i play BF3 just to be safe.

I wasn't the only one who had the problem.

What card is it? I have 18% OC'ed 670 and I do not downclock it for BF3 at all

let me guess? 560 TI

lol just saw ur last message, i had the same problem when BF3 launched with my 560 TI, had to force it to a standard 560, but they fixed that ages ago man, i haven't had an issue for months, try it on normal :)

Sigh,

I wonder if its specific to playing dragon age origin via Origin, i never noticed this issue while playing anything else.

Oh can anyone tell me does dragon age 2 require origin to play?
