BTGames worst service ever with Black Ops 2..

Proof of payment does not equal receipt. Kalahari use the same system as do most companies, generally you don't notice this in an online order with home delivery. Nobody releases goods without payment, its bad business and its easy to forge a proof of payment, any business doing that will be filling for liquidation by year-end.
Like I said you don't notice this gap because most online retailers bring in the stock when they get proof of payment and then sent it off to the customer when payment clears. That gap is not noticeable because the customer just assumes it a delivery thing. If your gonna pay via an EFT and then pick it up in store your gonna have a bad time waiting for it to clear before pick up.

Why do you think Takealot says on their pre-orders to send payment in prior to release?

Granted your reply might have been very arrogant but I'm sure he gets the same e-mail every day from people who don't understand banking clearance.

Never had any issues with them. Maybe you doing it wrong. if you use absa bank for example you will have to wait 3-4 days for payment to clear and only then will it reflect on their accounts.

I vote the OP is the one that is wrong. unlike some other store that only delivered a game on monday and it released on the friday
yes, all true, and Shirou would be in the wrong here had he paid via EFT, BUT he didn't. He paid with credit card, there is no waiting/clearance period for online credit card payment, it's immediate.

Correct.. like i stated earlier, i did not use EFT because i know the waiting is horrible, i allways use Credit Card and it's allways a problem with BT Games, never had problems from other companies using a Credit Card.

Shirou i used to work there back in the day for a couple of months and back then there was a lady who handled the online story. She allocated payments to orders and it should show directly on the store side then.

I dont know if they still do it like they do it now but we also had cases where we had to ask the store manager to release the game without the system allowing us because of the systems stupid design of having to wait for a person to allocate payments.

So this is purely internal control. I'm studying auditing, some of these allocations need to go through so many channels first. Unfortunately a proper system should let goods out without payment, its just this time is personnel and not banks holding things up.

Still due process is the best, it just screws over people at times but it keeps auditors happy. Sorry

I think with the way their whole system works, if you are going to be picking it up in store then the best thing is just to say you will pay in store. It saves all this nonsense with payment allocation and what not.

I am an auditor and they process they follow are correct in terms of what we as auditors want but from personal experience and working with clients books and credit cards, that payment would have cleared immediately, so just lazy useless staff from BT game are to blame for this mishap here, by not allocating payment on their system when it came through.
That arrogant fool at the store should have phoned HQ and have had them allocate the payment as it would have shown in their bank account.

I personally hate them as well, I've nearly floored the one staff member at the Clearwater branch before due to his arrogance and being a total boob. The one that looks like Gollum from The Lord of the Rings.
Their specials are sometimes really good so do visit the store from time to time as I can nearly walk to Clearwater from my house.
Being mainly a console gamer I need to visit the stores.

An etailer with a proper online shop will actually email you

1. On receipt of your order
2. On payment received and confirmed
3. On shipping (or available for pickup)
4. On order delivered

BTgames does not do this, especially not # 2. I dont even receive #1, but they manage to sms me randomly, and then i hear nothing further. Hell id be surprised if they even know how many orders are placed and never taken further due to their lack of a system to track and manage orders.

This is why you pay in store or buy in the shop. If they cant be bothered to get a proper online shop and website, you should treat it like a security risk.

It is just terrible how you sometimes have to order online to get a certain price and then they are taking more than a day to confirm the order (just to confirm that order was created, nevermind payments made)

Allright here is some feedback.. Received a PAYMENT RECEIPT from BT Games at 10AM print it out took it too them at Tygervalley BT Games at around 12:30PM and i kid you not.. they still could not give me the game.. i was like WTF? They then recheck the system and still don't pick it up, so the one guy made some calls and what a mission on the end they gave me the game by doing me a "Favour" and will be writing it in the "book" untill it shows on the system.

Even though the money was long gone from my bank account ( Credit Card ) as from yesterday they just can't pick it up.

And once again Joe the owner from Tygervalley BT Games allmost did not give the game again when the other guy ask if he can rather write it in the book, and he just went and hide in the back office..

He's a twat! I should have decked him at the Ravnica pre-release and told him "That's for gamers everywhere!" :p

BT Games really are doing no favours for anyone. I have heard some good things, but they are always overshadowed by all the crap that they cause.

Strangely enough, they'll keep doing it. They are the only dedicated brick-and-mortar store that haven't got terrible prices. They don't have much competition in that regard, so they don't feel much pressure from competitors. Online sales aren't that big in SA yet, when compared to conventional buying.

I don't know who said Joe is the owner, but that person needs to check his info. He might be the manager, but he is definitely not the owner. All BT branches are owned by the same 3 ladies, I know this for a fact.

Not gonna comment on the whole payment screwup thing, because I know nothing about credit card payments (don't have a cc myself) or auditing etc.

lol.. when you in the area go to Tygervalley BT Games and say sup Joe, then you will meet him :) Be warned.. he knows everything you don't know better than him otherwise he will pull his attitude on you, oh and raise his voice so everyone can hear he knows best.

I hear they call him the mighty Joe? or he wish he would be called that.

I'm late to this Hate-BT party and I'm sorry to say this Shirou but...

BWAHAHAHAAHAHAHA :D

I've been through the same shit with them more often than I'd ever like to admit. I've got some long-ass threads lurking around here. I can completely empathise with your situation :D
