Played the beta, you bet i am in. Had a blast in beta. I didnt have too much latency issues, primarily because i did not play infiltrator (the sniping/stealth class). I prefer light infantry (you get a jetpack and is very mobile) and engineer (especially if i am driving)

Also vehicles are a big deal, you can see it as classes on its own, ie specialising in sunderer to play a support role (upgraded sunderers are quite important). Same with the air vehicles, although i suck at the flying.

ok I added a poll to the thread so we can get an idea of where most players allegiance lie and added some more empire info to the OP

(Yes I seem to have lost the "join" at the end of that poll question... :D)

Unplayable performance for me. Busy downloading new GPU drivers, but this feels like bad optimization.

I know they mysteriously enforced a min 4mb ram requirement which was not there during beta. This implies you can not play this game on 32bit OS. The forum was ablaze with rants of people who suddenly couldnt play. So i think they probably changed alot between beta and release.

There wasn't even a preload available because they were making changes to the last minute.

Oh and i think i will stick with Terran Rep. I prefer their vehicles, Vanu have this energy weapon stuff going in all their guns (rifles too) which wasnt that cool for me. I guess if you want a Halo feeling to your guns, go Vanu, if you want Battlefield/CoD feeling go the other 2.

Their main tank is also a type of hover craft that does not manoeuvre like a tank. If you want traditional tank with the guns and body turning seperately then you most likely need to be NC or TR.

But i guess it is a matter of taste. There is definitely balance concerns, but that can change.

4 gig Surely?

Yes, obviously, my mistake. If this game ran on 4mb it would be super.
my first pc had 4mb ram, on a ISA ram bank :p

but back to the matter at hand, I think Vanu should suit me fine then. something different for a change. sounds like their tech goes better with the futuristic backdrop of the game

Is Station name my name?,what do i put there?

Station name is your SOE/Sony account. If you ever played Everquest/Vanguard/DC Universe/Star Wars Galaxies or any other SOE game, you most likely already have a Station account. If not, create one.

Anyhow, i don't think there is a rush to download, there was 15-20 min queue to log in for me, so the servers are being hit hard. Played for an hour or so, had some laggy spots when there were like 50+ enemies on the screen. I could at least get a few kills on foot inside the buildings, will see how things goes. Seems Miller is laggy overall, see the europeans moan on the forum about it, so worth checking out the other server too.

They kinda drop you in the middle of a heavy fight when you log in the first time , not sure why they did this, beta you started at the Warpgate. Anyhow, expect total chaos when you parachute in, so if you die and need some time to adjust, make sure to redeploy to the warpgate.

Just beware you usually die one-shot from tank fire and it doesn't always feel like it was a tank that hit you, but believe me, alot of players just shoot in your general direction with a tank and sometimes it hits and you will go "WTF".

Yep, no dice for my poor dual-core. So much for them wanting to optimize this to run on PCs that are five years old. :(

Just sucks when you can play BF3 on High, then something like this comes along and you can't even play it on low.
