Possibly the most important news you have been waiting on this year.

Were you one of the lucky ones who received a thirteenth cheque, and what are your plans for it?

In a departure from the cut-down bonuses I have received over the past two Decembers, this year I was pleasantly surprised to the tune of slightly more than my gross monthly salary.

I am going to use it to pay off outstanding medical expenses, and to replace the cash I took out of the money I have invested at NFB to pay to go to Rage.

Ok but my bonus from my parents was tickets to see metallica. I look after my little bro till I can find a job. Which my moms boss has offered me next year so I can't wait :D
 
Graphics card, pay off money I owe the wife, paving around house, some shelving in garage, paint for rooms, braai stuff (my braai's bottom tray is rusted through), gas hob for kitchen, some electrical and plumbing needs for my house, aircon, lights, firearm competency, ceiling fans, new light fitting for kitchen, and many more smaller items.
 
Dump some in my Credit Card, Xmas gifts for everyone, new years in the Drakensburg mountains.
 
Unfortunately we don't get bonuses where I work. :(

I did get some good news though. Some of us were supposed to work during Christmas week but luckily we will be getting that week off now. Now that's a bonus!
 
No bonus, was unemployed last 3 months :cry:

Went to Thailand instead, got back from nice trip, found out my mother damaged my car.. and just put in 2 new front shocks as well! :(

Moral of story: Don't let your parents drive your car!
 
We usually receive bonuses at the end of the year and was going to this year but due to some recent expenses the bonuses got cancelled. Thing is I was really counting on that bit of extra money to sort out some bills, tax and school fees. So it's not gonna be such a happy holiday this year. And next year is already shaping up to be a tough start...
 
Still not sure if I'm getting a bonus, but I really hope so. If I do I want to get another tattoo and pay off some debt and a xmas gift for my mother.
 
Students don't get xmas bonuses. But when I start work in Feb 2014 I get January's salary for free. Still long way to go.
 
No bonus. Decent increase though....couple times inflation.

The long gap between Dec paycheck and Jan paycheck shouldn't be an issue...got a rocking CC for that.

Lol yes.... that's the case for most of us..... I got lucky enough to help my dad with a few websites ( he's a developer) for extra cash :)
 
My bonus went into buying a brand new gaming rig from The Joker. Super excited to get the new machine. That and I treated myself to something nice and expensive; a full tank petrol.
 
Bought a Gas Hob for my kitchen, didn't realize it was gonna cost MORE to get it fitted than I paid fort the damn thing... :(
 
got a bonus and was pleasantly surprised when i got double salary this month... pitty most of it is going to my studies. the rest will be going towards spending money for an overseas trip in June next year
