If You Could Remake an Older Game

Last night I was thinking how they screwed up the Silent Hill 2 remake and how good they actually could have made it. These days there are a lot of remakes and why they should screw up my favourite, I don't know.

However, if you could choose any game to be remade with modern graphics and some modern gameplay touches, which game would it be?

I'll go with Master of Magic. Almost bought it on GoG but I'm worried that it just won't be the same and I don't want to spoil an awesome gaming memory.

Down to the question at hand. I really wanted a remake of painkiller which I got :p

So lets see I would have to go with Nomad soul.
 
Not that there was anything wrong with it, I would love to remake Age of Empires 2. It was one of the most epic games I played and Age of Empires 3 was just such an awful let down. So I'd love to see something in similar style and feel as Age of Empires 2, but more polished.
 
Fallout tactics.

Should have lots of blood and dismemberments as well as a ton of weapons.

Love the original so damn much.

Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic, I would love to see this game getting a face-lift. Played a bit on the weekend lanning with a friend and I was reminded of how awesome this game is.
 
I've got plenty. :)

Star Control 1 and 2... SC1 is unplayable and at least a sequel to SC2 or 3 would be nice. I can still live with Ur Quan Masters as substitute for SC2.

Also wouldn't mind a redone of Fallout 1 & 2 in the same way Fallout 3 was done. I started with FO:NV and then FO3, so to try and get into games as old as FO1 and 2 would be difficult for me.

Since I'm finally playing Skyrim, a remake of the first 3 games won't be bad as there is no way I'll be able to play them now. I'll give Oblivion a shot when I have time again after Skyrim and see how that goes.

KOTOR. I started with Mass Effect 1 & 2 and then Dragon Age 1 & 2... Trying to start playing KOTOR after that did not go down well.
 
Hidden and Dangerous 1. This was one of the most interesting and original games I played. Would love to see all the originality in HD...
