Bioshock Infinite will please PC gamers

Yeah because "PC gamers" love steam drm
This topic has been beaten into the ground.

Yes DRM free would be the best. If you can't do that then at least make it Steam DRM and not GFWL/SECUROM/UBICRAP or any of the other completely horrible anti-consumer crap they strap to games.

Most people find the various benefits afforded by Steamworks to outweigh the negatives of the client, sure some people don't and that is fine but no-one can really argue that GWFL or SecuROM is a better alternative.

Fine, but they're using Steam because it's DRM. They're trying to make it sound as if they are doing a favour to pc gamers because they're putting it on steam.

"We also want to make sure that the fans have effortless access to the game, so we’re using Steam’s standard DRM."

Effortless?! Seriously?

Uhm steam's great there drm has been the most hassle free I've seen. AND if you manage to get uncapped its just so much better. Then unexpected updates aren't so bad :)

Necropost, but I think this is a relevant thread for this.

Why are 2K published games so expensive compared to the rest of the market? Bioshock Infinite is R450 on pre-order for PC, and Borderlands 2 was also almost R500 at launch.

I paid R350 for Borderlands 2. Not sure why Bioshock is so pricey, but I remember paying R430 for Bioshock 1 on PC when it was released. I'm not too fussed, but it would have been nice if it was more in line with other publishers.

My issue with them is that you aren't guaranteed to get your key in time to let it pre-load so you might sit with a problem where you only get the key on the day of release leaving you SOL until it finishes.

A heavy cost; I pay it gladly

I see that Greenman Gaming pre-orders for this game are now also getting a copy of XCOM for free. I thought this was exclusive to Steam pre-orders, but there is no denying that Greenman Gaming has the best deal by far now.

Just wish that their site would work and when it was working I couldn't get my card payment to go through, despite the fact that I've successfully bought from them before.

Does anyone else find it worrying that the review embargo is only set to lift on release day? That's very shady.

It does give one cause for concern, but unlike how I felt about Colonial Marines when I saw in-game footage before release; what I've seen of Bioshock Infinite inspires confidence that it's going to be a really good game.

I guess we'll find out tomorrow.

It's not good. The only solution is to stop pre-ordering.

Yeah, after A:CM I'm no longer just pre-ordering games like I used to. It usually saves you around R50, but I don't know, I just got burned too badly with pre-orders in the past. I'll especially not pre-order when publishers set review embargoes for release day, even though I doubt Infinite will be a bad game.
