This thing is awesome.
It's a bit of plastic that's highly adhesive on both sides that you can use to hold stuff in position on your dashboard. There's no glue so there's no sticky residue; you literally just put something on it and it stays there (and I mean it really stays there; it's amazing).
I stuck it to a near-vertical bit of my dash just behind the steering wheel and it holds my phone there perfectly. I can use the touch screen, plug the aux cable in etc. without it falling off. And it's perfect because I can actually use my phone without looking down. And I can finally use Google Maps properly.
It cost me R80 at Playground in Cresta but I'm sure you could get it cheaper.
Anybody else have one of these?
