Want to get my first tattoo.

Got the price my wife paid wrong, it was R400, and you are correct the longer it takes the more it costs.

It usually depends on the size of the tattoo and the level of detail involved. Colour also costs more.

I have the Witcher logo on my wrist, cost me R350. Depending on the size that you want that logo it should cost more or less the same I think, but it also depends on the tattoo artist. The guy I went to might have given me a sweet deal or overcharged me, I don't know, it's the only tattoo I paid for (the rest were free).

So I am not being silly having the nod symbol tattooed, I am pretty amped. :D

So I really want to get a tattoo. Not sure where to go. I heard the golden tiki is really good.

Any recommendations.

I've heard absolutely amazing things about Wildfire Tattoos, provided you live in the western cape. I believe Azimuth also got hers from there.

Their artists are apparently really good and as far as I know touch-ups are free for the rest of your life. They're expensive with a base price of R500 and then having it go up according to the tattoo, but when it comes to something I'm going to be sporting for the rest of my life, I'd rather pay more to ensure I get quality. I'm going to get my tattoo from them when I ever get around to deciding what exactly it is I want.

Its going to look quite ugly when he's older... But that's along time from now :)

Lol dude everything on you looks quite ugly when you older :p Ag I eventually went to get a sleeve.
well the nod symbol is kinda my childhood symbol. Always loved the symbol.

Way to far :p I'm in jhb. My drummer had a tat done at golden tiki and it looked really good.

I believe there's one in Century City.

Depends on where you get it. On my wrist hurt, a LOT (and I do mean, a LOT). Forearm not so much, but the back of my arm (along the bone) hurt like crap as well.

No matter how much it hurts, however, the pain is addictive in a weird kind of way and after you get inked the first time you just want to go back for more.

4 times in the space of 6 months :D

Word of warning.

Cheap tattoo is never good, and a good tattoo is never cheap.

Make 100% sure it's what you want, because it's there for life and also make sure it's easily covered, despite people thinking it's cool a lot of people are still "stuck in their ways" and think tattoo's are disgusting and disfiguring.

Other than that you're good to go! Have fun buddy it's super addictive I got 4 so far (Chest piece and 2 quater sleeves) and planning to get a lot more. :D

I totally agree with you. You get what you pay for. Not going to skimp on the costs. Been thinking about what tattoo I want for years now. Now I am ready to get one :)

+1 to this. a friend of mine got what was supposed to be good looking tattoo but was going to be huge done by someone who promised her it would be cheap. Well that Tattoo was cheap, problem is it looks bad as in terri-bad. It looks like a picture from a colouring book that has just been coloured in...

Big ups for the chest piece! that was probably a nice session to sit through. I've taken a break from completing my sleeve for now (mostly cause i don't have the time or money - lol :D) but i really want to finish it off before the end of this year

Also in the process of a sleeve, still working out what I want. Bit of a comic geek so got the mandatory Superman logo and tribal Batman logo. Also my son's name on my neck. The other one shall not be spoken of. Just finished with school, woke up with a hangover, bleached hair and a tattoo...

Anyways, regarding pain levels, depends where you get yours done. Some parts hurt, other parts its more irritating than painfull. Also differs from artist to artist doing the work. The guy that does mine is quite gentle, but you still get those bits where it feels like he is carving you up with a knife.
