Free-to-play Call of Duty in testing

Jeeze, Activision releases a purchase2play game, people whine because 'you pay for the same game as last year.' Activision announces they're testing the waters for F2P, people are negative before any actual details even surface.

Cut them some slack. At least until you've actually seen the game or we get some more details. CoD could work wonderfully as a F2P game. I've been thinking they should try a f2p model for a while now.

We're just poking fun at Activision, given their track record. :)

I just feel it's a bit unfair how people all over the internet are always giving Activision endless flak, while EA seems to get away with much, much worse things.

My hatred for EA is high. A bit shocked that you are defending Activision seeing as though you hate them to :p

This can only mean good things for Call of duty... How can you complain about this? :wtf:

EA haven't been pushing up the price on their games like Activsion has and so, for me at least EA is the lesser of two evils.

I thought the thread name was deceiving and I was going to be trolled in some way... But no so :p
I think they can make a success of this venture, given that it's going to be P2W, sort of.

Finally; a Call of Duty everyone can play (with the optional extra... $$$ :D)

Really? EA, the leader of pretty much everything bad in the gaming industry is the lesser of two evils? The destroyer of franchises? The leader in questionable DLC practices? The leader in making horrible DRM and terms of use that should be making our hair raise? The corporation who abuses highly anticipated games by turning them into experiments for lining EA's pockets? The corporation whose very games are the embodiment of the term 'dumbing down.'

I'm sorry, but despite what anyone might think of Activision, EA is truly the worst thing in the gaming industry, to happen to the gaming industry. They are the very embodiment of corporate greed. They don't care about games or gamers at all. It's all about the money and they will feed gamers any bullshit in their marketing campaign just to get them to buy their games. Last year the PC was god's gift to mankind, this year they can't even be arsed to do a proper port to PC for a high profile game such as Dead Space 3. EA doesn't give a shit about you or your games. All they care about is how much money they can extract from you.

EA is the devil and the best part is, if I dared to make this same post on their official forums I would have seen my EA account banned and been locked out of all my Origin games.

(yes, sorry for the rant, but words cannot describe how much I hate EA and the damage they're doing to the gaming industry)
