RIP Medal Of Honor

EA have taken the Medal of Honor series "out of rotation"

And there goes my favorite shooter series...:(
They were probably wrong to chase COD into the modern warfare genre but I didn't think warfighter or 2010 were all that bad. The original ww2 games up till airborne were great, hopefully its not the last we see of the franchise.

The first few MoHs on ps1 were good, the rest was just generic boring kak ( especially 2010&2012 ) .

Nothing but good news. Hopefully this will mean they are done trying to pump out CoD Clones and then maybe in a few years time actually make a MoH game that is worthy of the name.

I can't really complain, I may have enjoyed the 2010 release, but it wasn't anything special to write home about... Since EA is doing a "year over year" plan for their shooters, maybe I might get to see a Battlefield: Bad Company 3 release come mid to late 2016... Maybe:o

Well since they are using a rotation policy it just means they're going to pump out more Battlefield games, I dunno but I found the modern MoH more enjoyable than COD but I know im in the minority here.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Bad Company 3 either.

MOH: Allied Assault was the first proper FPS game I ever played (after Serious Sam, which doesn't count). Blew my mind. Then came Call of Duty, and the thing that stood out for me was the masses of allied soldiers you always had at your back. This changed the dynamic completely from MOH and most other FPS games that always had (and still have) that "you against the world" mentality. I can't take seriously any game that pretends that one person or a small squad can stand any kind of chance against endless hordes of enemies. The last game I played that didn't feel like that was CoD 2

I'm with you here, MoH is better than CoD.

Hm even as an opinion that quite a bewildering statement. Are you saying that MoH:WF is a better game than CoD:BLOPS 2?

I wasn’t actually thinking specifically Warfighter vs. BLOP2 but I would always recommend MoH 2010 over CoD both BLOP and MW3. Saying that I have played both of their latest entries and I preferred BLOP2 for its giving its choice in weapon lead-out prior to entry into the level and it was better polished than Warfighter. Saying that I would push CoD for that entry but overall I would still push MoH ahead of CoD as a series.

But I really don’t want to get into an argument here because I know I’m in the minority and I’m purely basing my view on the SP since I have practically zero experience on the MP scene in either game. The internet in my area is really unreliable and I don’t have time to invest in levelling up and so on in a MP. Instead I’m gonna mourn the loss of series I really loved.

With the exception of CoD: MW2 and MW3 I think the CoD series has been much better than MoH. Consider that Infinity Ward were originally composed of people who did the WWII MoH games (i.e. the good ones) and went on to make the original CoD that was by far superior to any WWII shooter before then and far as WWII shooters are concerned was only bested by CoD 2.

I'm not big on the CoD MP either, I judge the games based on their SP campaigns.

This is sad, but it doesn't affect me.
I'm much more of a Battlefield 3 fan, and Call of Duty, maybe.

Many developers are falling into the Call of Duty dilemma... SSDN (Same sh*t, different name).

Maybe it'll be good for the game. Introduce something new and fresh. Haven't played much of Medal of Honor at all to comment or give personal opinions.

Sorry to see it go, and even more sorry that it was once again EA who ran a good franchise into the ground.

Well, looks like they are pushing Dead Space over that same cliff, what with microtransactions in a full priced SP game :wtf:. I hope to goodness they don't take the Battlefield series to the same fate...

What happened to the EA that published the likes of Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Battlefield 2 and Mirrors Edge?
