Guild Wars 2

Guys, set your clients to start downloading overnight or when you get up in the morning. Giant update just came out. Over 8000 files to download.

I saw that earlier.
8000 files. A mixture of small and large files?

How big is this patch meant to be?

The files can be of anysize. So 8000 files might not even be 200meg. But seeing as to the many changes should be about 1gig+-

Bleh I knew the connection error was going to happen again.

Retards unite !!! All those connection error threads are about the same problem yet everyone is like I have to make my own thread.

After I posted this there was 3 new ones created.

Okay patch is 550Megs

That thread speaks a lot of sense. And I'm afraid that one particular piece of info has made it through to me, that this might be the right time to join a larger guild for the sole purpose of doing these missions. I'd much prefer not to, as I don't like being a faceless and voiceless drone, but I also don't want to miss out on this content..

Damned hard rocky places.

Please Waco read this before logging into the game.

There is a current problem with Guild Bounty Missions and they are not functioning correctly.
We would advise guilds not to spend the influence to speed up the process to unlock the Guild Bounty Missions until such time that we are able to fix this error. We will keep you updated in this thread with regard to that fix.
Thank you.

Yea so much for GW2 being a social MMO, now they restrict what size your guild can be to do certain events, there was talk of smaller guilds asking random players for help, but a lot of people on reddit are saying that smaller guilds are all folding too fast.

PUGs (Pick Up Guildies, in this case) will never be a sufficient solution, we all know how unreliable randoms can be. Implementing alliances is a much better long term solution, IMO, but it doesn't seem to be a priority to ANet at the moment :(

An unofficial, self implemented alliance between smaller guilds might work, but it's patchy as well, while an understanding with some of the local big guilds could be worth the effort. However, this is a local solution, for our specific problem; other small guilds won't necessarily have the luxury or ability to do this.. I do hope that ANet realises/notices how much this screws the small guilds over, and does something to make it a bit better.

I'd be very upset if we needed to fold because of this - not so much because I like being an evil dictator (you guys were thinking that, admit it :p ), but because I enjoy the crowd we're playing with now. And let's face it, STI is actually plenty big enough to tackle the content - we just don't have people logging in to play the game.

Personally though, I refuse to go on a recruiting drive. I've been part of large guilds before and I've never enjoyed the experience - this was my prime reason for wanting to keep STI small.

I will be honest as well, there is not chance in hell of me leaving for a bigger guild. I actually like the group we have going currently, plus I was part of big guilds before and the drama that goes on in one is not for me. I will rather miss out on stuff - hoping Anet will change some of the requirements to give the smaller guilds a chance.

Well given all the above, and given that we need to gather the influence quickly, dungeon runs are probably the quickest way of getting there - although I don't have the patience to continually run dungeons every day. But, if we group up for events we'll also score influence a lot faster than we will by randomly running events by ourselves (20 p.p in a group vs 2 solo).

That is doable tho, we should just try and group up as much as possible from now on?

Pretty much. We don't need to have full groups - groups of two or three will be fine - we can pick an area, and then run around chasing events, murdering things, and gathering - if anything we can use any surplus from gathering to sell on TP and generate more income for the guild. Of course, I'll leave it up to you as to how much you feel like donating to the cause :)

Ooooh, no, I'm not suggesting that the STI should fold, then I wouldn't have any reason to log in anymore! I just thought that for the purpose of doing these guild runs, we join larger guilds, and only represent when we want to do the run. I also really don't want to have the 'big guild' experience in any form!

Hey I donate big amounts to the cause :P

Lemme get my guardian to the cursed shore - i need to get there soon with my story in any case, I want to finish up her story q so we can do that and do the events there.

The new Daily's now seem to SUCK even more in some way. Thankfully the old ones are still available.

There is no problems with the daily's they just cater to a larger amount of players all over the guildwars world now.

Isengards thanks for the headsup.
Avatar we are a lot of active members and we did get 4k influence from 3 day's over the weekend so 20-30k is not so bad.

Fox/wyvern don't activate the influence that is finishing up today. We can't make the influence spend on it back in the weekday's.
