it's selfish people needlessly putting pressure on their friends and relatives. it's not like you can go "what can I get her for her birthday? what does she like?", "oh she likes screaming for no reason at 4 in the morning, filling up a diaper in record time and sucking on her left big toe"

fair enough, but when I reach that stage the kid will most probably be fast asleep in it's cot while the grownups are having a dop & tjop

Best thing is though... I received questionnaires and memos from a lecture; making studying THAT much more convenient.

Plush toy. You can never go wrong with a plush toy for a baby girl. Easiest and most convenient. If you can get one of those floppy ones that look like a little girl, even better.
