Many of the series’ magical elements will be toned down
“Eidos-Montreal compares game development to a high-speed train collision between art and technology.â€
The staff experimented with featuring a new character, making it a third-person game involving either tactical gameplay or environmental clambering (like Assassin’s Creed)
Yeah, in Dishonored combat was actually easier than sneaking. That's one of the main reasons why Thief was a better game. Either you sneaked around, or you had to be really good at dodging arrows.
I've only started playing dishonored and could be wrong, but i get the feeling its meant to be easier to run into the open and kill but you get better outcomes if you go the sneaking route?
Yes that's the intention but it's just silly playing a game one way when the other way is so much easier and the rewards for being stealthy really aren't that great.
I hate these 'acheivements' in games. I want to play the game for a story, not go around collecting stars or whatever the hell they want us to find.
I think it's incredibly derp. In the interviews they say they actually toned down the gothic look. Which totally explains why he looks like he cuts himself.
Anyway, they keep going on about how iconic the original Garret was, yet they're making the new one the exact opposite of who he was. This Garret became a thief because the PRIME EVUL BARON killed his parents and now he's sworn REVENGE!!11!
In the original Thief games Garret was a Thief because he needed the money. He went on jobs because his rent was due. Why every modern game feels the need to have edgy main characters with cliche sob-story backgrounds is beyond me. Why can't Garret just be a Thief simply because?
Dear game developers everywhere,
You've already ruined DmC with grimdark edginess. Now you're going to ruin Thief next. Kindly stop.
Sincerely,
Everyone who thinks Twilight was drivel.
