Building my first PC. Do I have everything needed?

feedback

So what you guys saying is I wont need to overclock with this system?

So the 1600mhz memory wont be a problem?

Id rather spend money on a GPU than cooling!

Yes that makes way better sense now :)

U only need to get nice ram and cooling if u are overclocking for fun and benchmarks but for gaming none of the sort will need to be done

research

My last pc i bought was when dual core was the thing. And I lost track with whats happening in the pc industry. So I was amazed at all the new goodies!

I actually started doing my research yesterday and realised today. This would be an excellent forum to get info!

Joker is the most awesome advice give ever! Got my advice from him back in 2009 I think and my PC is still running amazingly, first gen i7 ftw lol :D

CPU's aren't all that important for gaming, even a i3 2100 is perfect for gaming. You want as much GPU power as possible.
Fact of life.... Running a i3 2120 and a GTX570... no problems here...
well..... except of course Tomb Raider but I blame TressFX and nVidia.
meanwhile BF3 and NFS Most Wanted looks shiny as hell and runs smooooth.

If a i3 gets 56fps and a i5 gets 70 im going with the i3 at R1000 cheaper. Then I can get a better GPU or a SSD.

The problem with that logic is the i3 may bottleneck a better card which would be a shame.

This is just and example but the core i3 is not bottle necking that 7970 at all.

Just my opinion but maybe consider getting the i5? Graphics cards are often replaced more often than CPU's, so getting an i5 might last you 2/3 graphics card upgrades while an i3 might last 1/2?
