I liked Bad Company 2 better.

There, I said it.

I much preferred the slower, more deliberate gameplay of BC2 over the fast, arcadish gameplay of BF3. I wish more people would feel like me and move back to playing BC2 so I can have someone to play that game with.

It's a bit of a random thread, but I just started playing the BC2 campaign again and realised how much I miss BC2 MP.

I know that feel bro...

I still played BC2 for quite a while after I bought BF3. I preferred the gameplay.
I feel that the maps vs players in BF3 is too big. BC2 felt a little more controlled.

I still play it. and prefer it to BC2. I play on European servers, so there's a bit of lag but it's still way more fun to me then BF3.

I missed my engineer too much.

Repair tool headshots and Wookie snipers!!
BC2 was the better game.

I think quite a lot of us know that feel (maybe not enough)... I played quite for some time on a friend's account after getting BF3 (both for SP and MP), and I quite enjoyed BC2 more than BF3 (don't get me wrong, I do love BF3 and have put in about 130 hours of gameplay).

For me personally, it isn't a case of 1 game was better than the other (well, maybe it is with the SP portion:D), it's more a case of them being different games, whereas 1 of them appeals more to me than the other.

I think this is why I'm not really happy about BF4 being next in line hot on the heels of BF3, but that's a rant for another day:rolleyes:.

Just out of curiosity, how busy are the local servers currently?

I like both BC2 and BF3.

BF3 is less on the arcade style once you know how to play.Playing it 'run and gun' style will just get you killed around the next corner.

Most people play BF3 because the there is more to do and it's the next big thing (expect people to move on the BF4 when it comes out),I just hope they learn from their mistakes from BF3.Battlerecorder,more guns, commander and larger maps are what people want (aswell as better net code and hit detection)

Yeah, I wouldn't say one is better than the other, but I prefer BC2. The slower pace made it feel a bit more like a military sim, while BF3's faster pace feels a bit more like CoD at times. It doesn't really help that I think BF3 is a fugly game either.

The visuals themselves are nice, I guess, but the lighting and post-processing effects are just way overdone. I get so annoyed with the game because half the time I'm playing I can't see properly due to excessive lens-flare, dirt being kicked up onto the screen, etc. I really hope they tone down the amount of lighting and special effects in BF4.

Played both, must admit - also enjoyed BC2 a little more than BC3 - but they are completely different games....

One of the armored kill maps on bf3 (The farm one),brought back a lot of good memories with the c4 quads to eliminate tanks

Played both & enjoyed it.

I can't get used to some things in BF3 though. e.g. A solo playing style doesn't work at all. In BC2 you could go sniper with C4 and then kill soldiers & tanks. In BF3 you really need a full squad or you're in for a hard time. In variably I land in a squad with a bunch of snipers. Now I play sniper too...but I'm usually close enough to no-scope people on occasion....not on the other side of the map sitting pretty with ballistic scopes.

Also WTF is up with playing the Metro map over & over. Its *always* a camp fest at the stairs. Or worse a nade lobbing competition.

/rant over

Occasionally BF3 is epic fun though. :)

I think Metro is the official 'grind' map. People just go there because it's easy to get a lot of points and make lots of experience. Just playing a medic there is bound to get you at the top of the scoreboard. I quit if a server switches the map to Metro.

A close second would be Damavand peak... Those damn tunnels.

That I can deal with - sniper wars have an element of skill & the tunnels leave some room for various styles. Trying to get up stairs with on endless torrent of nades thrown by opponents you never even glimpse is not gaming anymore. If they have enough people throwing nades surrounded by ammo boxes then there is *nothing* you can do.

Hence why most Metro servers now ban explosives.

Set region to SAfrica. Sort by player numbers...server 1 is Metro with nade fest in full swing (Bonus M320s too).

At least it was ~1 hour ago. I've never heard of an explosive ban on a Metro server...though I'm sure they exist if you say so.

Only ban on Metro servers I've seen was for rocket launchers, but people didn't really worry about following those rules. Last time I called out a clan on not following server rules, the FiB clan members came here and behaved like a bunch of CoD players. :p

They were a lovely bunch, weren't they :p:rolleyes:

Theres still heaps of BC2 players on xbox, took it for a spin the other night and had a kak load of fun. It really has something specia and
the single player campaign is the best ever in my opinion for a military FPS.

To say I was bitterly dissapointed when I heard BF3 wasn't a sequel to BC2 is an understatement.

I hate the metro map so much. the B2K maps are my favourite.
