Tomb Raider (2013) discussion thread

I still get the odd crash if I enable tessalation. Everything else is set to 'ultimate', but once I untick tesselation the game runs very smooth. Next nvidia update will probably fix it.

What's your CPU and GPU setup dude? I'm running GTX580's in SLI with an Intel 980X at 4.2GHz - and I cannot manage to run everything at ultimate. I have to add that I am running at 2560x1440 resolution - but to compensate I turned off any AA, because at that res, it's not necessary. Still, when everything else is on ultimate it runs like a powerpoint slideshow on my PC.
 
Nvidia drivers are piss poor at the moment. They need to sort them out asap.

Would also like to add that the game is utterly brilliant and so different to all the generic crap out there.
Def a must buy for any gamer looking for something different and awesome.

Started a game in the second save slot by accident. Tried to stop it before it could load, PC hanged so resetted it.

Slot 1 still intact. Off to bed now.

Guys. LOLBALLS.

So my PC gets an average of 82fps - with everything maxed (except for hair), until I enable the Depth of Field to Ultra. That was the LAST setting I expected to give me such a performance hit. I drop down to 30 fps if it's on Ultra. WTF??
 
I've been playing the game for a while now and I have to admit - I am really impressed by it. After the update, even without new NVidia drivers, the game is running brilliantly and I love the gameplay and story. This game is a WIN!
 
Tomb Raider is AWESOME!!!
Graphics and game-play are amazing, totally worth purchasing,got it on PC and Xbox.

Bought the Limited edition Tomb Raider Xbox controller and game for R795 at BTgames (as a bundle), plus they threw in the Tomb Raider limited edition tin casing for free. BTgames is awesome
 
Freaking amazing no problems on Ultimate atm and 98% completion
I can safely say I am done with this for now .....
Now I shall return to dead space 3
 
Cool beans! I'll post the benchies later. I'm curious as to whether I'll be able to play with TressFX enabled now...

Update.

Okay so I can now, by a miracle, run the game with everything maxed - with TressFX on - and I get an avg. of 47fps which is "playable" to a degree. This is actually rather amazing to me because when the game launched I remember laughing hard when the benchmark ran like a powerpoint slideshow with those settings.

If I turn TressFX off, my avg jumps to 78fps. So the AMD super shampoo algorithm really isn't made for nvidia users. But, I'm very impressed with the performance improvements they made for us. The game is still excellent, even without referring to the graphics.

Maxed out with Tress FX no problem. Its a utterly brilliant game!!
1 of the best games I have played in years, not once was I bored or felt like playing something else.

Agreed its I just wanted to continue playing and the game mechanics , and game play spot on .
What I admired most was the pacing of the difficulty of the game , it was always just difficult enough to keep you interested but not so much that it frustrated , this was brilliant cause I felt in control and as it progressed and the enemeys got harder you always found the edge to defeat them.

My only complaint is the lack of puzzles and that those presented where too easy granted it was to speed up the story but I missed that portion.

I didn't mind the lack of puzzles, I actually liked everything about the game lol xD
