Paedophilia is not a crime, it is a psychological illness, said Catholic Archbishop of Durban Wilfrid Fox Napier according to a report on Saturday.

Napier said in an interview on BBC Radio 5 that paedophilia was "a psychological condition, a disorder".

He said there was a difference between committing a crime and being a victim.

How about its psychological condition *and* a crime. Presenting these things as a false dichotomy is so typical of the church and their bullshit.

Add the condom fiasco and I'm inclined to think the world is not made a better place by the Vatican's existence.

Random fact...for many years the Vatican had the lowest age of consent in Europe. 12 years...
 
Psychopathy is also a psychological condition, doesn't mean a psycho shouldn't get punished if he goes around killing people.
 
wtf??? the laws of society says its a crime so guess what? it's a freaking crime. i bet this guy has thought about the alter boys now and then.

Thought? Being a Catholic bishop, I'm pretty sure he's done a bit more than "thought" :P.
