The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

what anime shop do you go to. I really want to start a collection of anime items.

most my anime is all downloaded not sure what i have when i get home i will make a list like you said

I buy all my stuff from anime-on-line.com or Amazon.
In SA.....I have no idea. I have never bothered to try and find local stores. They usually don't have what I want it turns out to be fake region copies.

Same as Armitag3 - I haven't tried ordering from local stores. Animeworx stocks a decent selection, but I usually order from Amazon or directly from Rightstuf.com - and most of the time it even comes out a little less costly even after adding in shipping and customs.

AWX is very over price IMO. Amazon all the way can pick up dvd and db sets for under 10 pounds easily.

atm i have around 10 naruto 2 Starcraft 5 DBZ figures. But thats about it i saw at exclusive books they have manga books as well.

so keen to get some of that. But im going to start slowly hoping its not going to kill my wallet ( i see this killing my wallet :D)

I love manga, I prefer to pick it up when it's a Tankōbonm, you get everything and it's of a higher quality.

Amazon there's also a place in Cape Town called Readers Den they sell some too. Not as much as I had hoped though.

Have a look for it on amazon under Manga Omnibus or boxset.

Reader's Den is horribly expensive though - a single volume of manga is likely to set you back between R120 - R150. I avoid them as much as I can, although I usually swing by on Free Comic Book Day, because of the discounts. Still pricey though.

Sadly SA will for ever be over priced when it comes to things from over the ocean, because some one always has to shove extra money into their infinitely deep pockets.

Reading JoJo's bazaar adventures part 3.

Steam Boy, Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfathers, Summer Wars, Arrietty, Appleseed, Akira, Karas, Megaman NT and Sword of the Stranger are a few off the top of my head. (ones in bold you should check out first if you already haven't) Also try out some OVA series, they are basically like films but split up into 3 to 6 smaller episodes. Also.
You HAVE to watch Redline. It's INSANELY AWESOME! :O :O :O

Would be nice to have collections like that for the man cave :D

Im going to slow down on box sets for the time being and focus on films - They are cheaper :)

Will start with redline.I've seen about half the ones mentioned there so will check out some of the older ones as well. Downloading a few others now as well so will comment on them when Im done with them.

Just finished watching Paprika and it was really well executed.

As for the manga---it's just nice having the physical copies. Think I might do that in future for my top 5 animes (as if there is even such a thing :D)
