Surely their offer more than makes good for the initial blunder? I'd say that they were going in the direction of "best"?
Is it just me or are our news articles pretty late with the latest news?
I know EA has crappy (for lack of a better term) business practices, but I'm still doubtful they even remotely deserve the title when they go up against opponents like the Bank of America (based on a few documentaries I've seen, does EA even have documentaries made about it:wtf:?).
The problem is, with a Bank or a "personal" service type of company , there's always customers that DO actually get good service or are happy. Then there's a few that just drop through the cracks and make alot of noise which may or may not be reflecting the overal service levels of a company.
Now with EA, if they screw up, it's always a collective screwup. In other words, if Medal of Honour sucks, it is going to suck for the majority of people who buy it. So they will always have a mass negative feedback. If they mess up with Mass Effect or Dragon Age or Simcity, trust me, they mess it up for everyone . A bank really needs to mess up massively to anger as many people as EA can.
The only way a bank can pull off that amount of mass negativity is to do things that affect -everyone- at the same time. Like their online systems going down for a month, or raising bank fees to crazy levels for everyone at a very specific time.
That's the thing, EA has screwed up quite a few times, but it's screw ups purely have to do with customer satisfaction, but places like the bank of america have business practices that tend to leave people bankrupt in their administration of loans and mortgages, I remember they were hit with huge fine for actively ignoring a judge's orders by refusing sanctioned loan-mortgage modifications... Not to mention that they also have the lowest rating of customer satisfaction of any bank in America. All that I keep thinking is: Entertainment vs. Finances. These to me say these are 2 evils of 2 different levels.
Here's an interesting read... There are a lot more sources if you look.
Yea, on a purely "which one is really the more evil" , it will always be the bank imho. They can do much more damage to your life than an entertainment company ever can. They are unfortunately mixing this, so now you are bound to get a more concentrated group of haters together against EA because they will have the exact same problem, where with a bank everyone will have rather unique issues.
