So why doesn't PC ever get included in wars?

Ok, I think everyone has seen atleast a few console wars but I don't often see people say "the pc has much better graphics or controls than whichever console", I know pc prices varie and not everyone can afford them but if you can afford a console and expensive console games the pc shouldn't be much more. BTW, I have a console so I'm just wondering.

Simple.

What made the console? That's right. A mommy and daddy PC who loved each other a little too close to a depleted uranium extraction plant.

Yeah then the Keyboard and mouse chromosones mutated into a funny thing with 2 twitching knobs.

And, for most people, their screen vanished and was replaced by a television set.

Environment-wise, this new mutation seems to prefer its hosts making use of a couch instead of an office/desk chair.

Too bad the little baby consoles only have a life expectency of 5/6 years

I take it that you would hang on to your gaming PC in its current configuration for longer than that. ;-) :)

One thing which consoles have going for them is that they don't NEED to
be upgraded in order to play the games which are written for them.

Exactly. When you buy a console game you know it's going to work and in 99% of the cases it'll work well.

With the PC, on the other hand, you can only hope and pray it runs smoothly without you having to upgrade in order to play the latest games.

Depends what pc you have and what settings you want to play at. For most games I don't have to worry about whether it will run at 40fps+,crysis being the exception to the rule.

That's my point...for "most" games. In a few years time that will change to "the minority." When I pop a game into my Xbox I don't have to fiddle around with settings in order to play the game at a descent frame rate.

As I've said, however, I still prefer the PC regardless of the extra hassle. They're just two different markets.

Although i must admit i have an attachment to my pc that no xbox or ps3 could ever replace, but then again i have an atttachment to my sega saturn that no pc could ever replace... Where was i going with this? Oh yeah, ultimately IMHO pc's come out tops because the amount of money you spend on games and accessories over a consoles full lifespan, could easily be spent on one, if not two, fairly decent gaming rigs, and i know i just contradicted myself if you look at my last post, but ya i came to my senses

Console games are damn expensive...so they don't work out much different in the end price-wise.

Far from the truth my friend, Xbox console - R5k

now where can you get a Gaming pc for 5K nowadays and u dont have to ever upgrade a Console. Ok games are a little more expensive but hey it always looks better on the silver screen :D

major problem for me with consoles are the high game prices.

I finish most games in 1 or 2 sittings. like assasins creed, Half life 2 Eppy 1 and 2, etc.

So you won't find me paying close to R1000 for about 10 hours gameplay.

Thats why when I buy a PS3 game I make sure it's value for money.

Some games are worth it, games that keep you busy for a while, like let's say Gran Turismo, maybe even GTAIV, those kinda games. Definitely Metal Gear Solid.

But those quality Money deserving titles are few and far between.

Totally agree.

I'm not a console gamer because I don't have a tv. If I were to buy a console now then I would have to buy an HD tv. The two combined would make it an expensive buy especially when adding the games which are insanely expensive.

If they were to lower the prices of console games then I would consider getting a console for when I just want to relax on a sofa and play some games.

I'm a PC gamer through and through. Will allways be my number 1 platform.

But my GF likes the consoles. So I got an Xbox (first one) and a Playstation (2) aswell.

Damn Woman want's Little Big PLanet and I aint forking out that money for a PS3.

Except if I get myself Gran Turismo.......

A game I can get for R300 on a PC is at least R600 and something on the Xbox. If you do a lot of gaming, that quickly adds up over time. If you dont, then I guess not.

(P.S. Watse Xbox are you paying R5k for?)
