Hitman: Absolution is $9.99 on Steam. Can anyone recommend it?

I spent about 3 hours play last night and other than slightly Dodgy AI, A clumsy cover system and an idiotic checkpoint system it feels like a more polished Blood Money. If your a purist your going to reload a lot to get that perfect score. There is also a crap load of replayability that i've seen since most challenges can't be completed in a single playthrough. I would advice no looking a the challenges screen during your first go at a mission as I may make you feel obligated to play a certain way. I've decided to just play the first time round and focus on challenges on subsequent playthrought.

Is it flawless? Not at all but for me the Hitman series has always been like the STALKER series; Flawed but uniquely enjoyable.

I dont feel like I wasted my £50. But thats just me. I think if you are a huge Hitman fan you will probably enjoy it regardless of its faults. Though if you are unsure hold off a few months until it goes cheaper or hits a steam sale. Especially with Far Cry 3 out in 2 weeks risking it on something ur not 100% about seems silly.

I managed to play a little bit, at 4:00 this morning. Didn't really play for that long, but the little bit I did play was pretty impressive so far. Can't wait to get home tonight so I can really start playing.

So far this game is rocking. It still feels like hitman, although with a lot of new features. And it's beautiful! Lots of replay value and I can't wait to max out all the achievements.

I kinda like the added focus on the story element too.

Played about 3 or 4 missions so far and I am LOVING it. I get what people say about the levels being smaller, but it doesn't really bother me as I don't think the game would have run as smoothly on my PC if the levels were bigger.

Played the first two levels today. Maybe it's not a bad game, but it's definitely the worst Hitman game I've played. It's like they took everything that made Hitman Blood Money great, and then ripped it out.

came from the Hitman thread :)

My Steam is 50MB-updating as regularly as Origin does :/

Maybe, but Origin's 50mb download takes forever. Or perhaps Steam just updates in the background so that I don't notice it, but Origin insists on the upgrade before logging in.

Sometimes the updates are just to downgrade the client from the beta back to the standard. It seems my Steam client subscribes me to the beta client without asking first, which is pretty annoying as the beta generally tends to update often.

I'm sure it can be changed within Steam settings somewhere.

Steam-->Settings-->beta participation-->change-->opt out?

btw: anyone want bioshock infinite?
