Diablo III auction houses hurt the game, says director

It is really annoying that the game is so item dependend, I reckon that is what ruins the game, not the auction house that is the means to get there.

However, Blizzard was surprised by how many people made use of the auction houses – especially the in-game gold auction house.

Bullshit. They keep acting like they're so surprised, but the entire loot system is designed to force players to use the AH. In the first month item drops were so atrocious players had no choice but to use the AH to get gear.

I just wish they'd come out and say 'we dropped the ball' instead of acting all surprised and innocent the whole time.

Drop the auction houses (or at the very least allow me to play completely without them), drop the always-online requirement (but still allow me to LAN) and I might actually install the game again. Do this only for the console version and you will lose more favour.

We are still playing Torchlight II. They released a massive patch yesterday with tons of new content for mahala. Best $15 ever spent.

Think I'll give this one a go after I finish Assassins 3, Darksiders 2, Starcraft HOTS on Brutal and still have to play Crysis!

Where to find the time...

As R4C3, said it is currently on special for $9.99 due to the new content and steam workshop support. Definitely worth it :)

Part of the reason I stopped playing. I really don't like the Auction House as for me it takes the fun right out of the game. In Diablo II you found something good you were so happy... Now it's just grind grind grind to make money to buy some equipment that you need.
