Dark Souls 2 : 12 Minutes of Gameplay

Haha :D

Having the bejeezuz kicked out of you has never been more fun than it is in Dark Souls.

I'm utterly addicted to Dark Souls atm. In fact I'm literally at the final boss right now, but instead I'm doing clean-up operations before proceeding to NG+. :D

The thing is, I'm getting my ass kicked by that game, but I still love it. I haven't even got out of Undeadburg yet - I had just started exploring more when my PS3 bombed out.

I got Dark Souls for Xbox, I loved it, the gameplay was good and fun. But when I got to fight the salamander/teeth/mouth thing. I died 7 times. Switched off the game and sold it, everytime I see the achievments for it a shiver goes down my spine...

Hehe and he was one of the easiest bosses in the game. You shouldn't have taken death so seriously in this game, it's part of the mechanics. I died like 20+ times at the Capra Demon before I finally beat him. :D

I must say I'm a little disappointed by the lack of interest for the series on this forum... :(

I never even made it to the gargoyles. :o

Took me ages to kill the Taurus Demon and in retrospect, he was super easy (well.... "easy")
Maybe I should pick it up for Xbox second hand in the meantime.

The gargoyles were hard, but the capra demon earlier with the bull skull head was easy for me I only died once...

I need to get back into this game again. I've had to enlist some help for the bosses - both for the gargoyles and the capra demon which made a big difference. Then down in the depths I was owning with Pyromancer fire, now need to fight the Wyvern. The thing I love about this game is that there's that sense of pioneering into the unknown, fearful that at any second you'll get slain in a second.

I see there's now a mod that helps you team up with a friend in jolly coop, although not exactly the way the game was meant to be played it could be helpful if you're stuck.

Yup - I don't think I've ever moved so slowly and carefully in a game before.

On another point, how are those tortoise things in the video? Yikes.

I play it on PS3 so that mod is out of the question for me. However the game is still very actively played on PS3 so I never have a hard time summoning someone to help if I needed it.

I came back to the game last month after taking a very long hiatus from it, I hadn't even rang the second bell when I stopped. Since I got back to it though, I haven't really been able to get back to any other games, I'm just totally absorbed and am readying myself for New Game+.

I loved that concept. That fact that you cant backstab them or even just flank them is a brilliant idea and forces you to approach them in a completely different way. I hope there are more enemies like that in the game. :D

And there are two of them at the same time :P

Looks epic, can't wait! I still need to finish Dark Souls. I finished Demon's Souls 3 times but when I got stuck un Blighttown in Dark Souls I literally got depressed so I just gave up. Need to get it again and finish it before DS2 drops.

Where in Blight Town did you get stuck? It's not to hard to get through once you get a feel for it.

I can't remember exactly, but the constant poisoning in that place really irritated me as well. It was just the whole depressing atmosphere that eventually got to me.

Your best bet is to get the rusted ring from the Undead Asylum so that your movement isn't slowed when running through water. I unfortunately only discovered this after slogging my way through the entire area without it.
