yes the plats are quite expensive, hopefully there will be a price drop at some stage, but you can do with out it. so fa I've only used my plats to by Revives, the rest you can get with credits. just finish building from my first blueprint this morning :)

Yeah i figured you could get by, I just worry that you will feel you aren't experiencing the game fully unless you pay. Think its a very fine line between free to play and its a demo and you must pay to get the full experience. Dota is free, but I've spent money, because i don't feel im being forced too. I stopped playing age of empires because it was "free to play", but soon realised i was just playing a demo. The fact that in the case of age of empires i felt they were misleading me, broke my trust. Felt it was going to be like getting into scientology and would always need to buy another course, once i got it, i would require the next one.

HAHAHAHA! valid point :D

well, so far I don't really feel robbed, just enjoying the game. we'll see what the final release brings...

Yeah I do find it enjoyable. I'm hoping because its in Beta its still to be refined. I find it hard to not compare it to Mass Effect, even though i feel I should be a bit more forgiving because its free. But since its 3rd person with scifi, and rpg elements to it, I have too, and mass effects combat is way more more refined. I find it hard to use melee, but the shooting is alright. I think i will try again after a couple more updates.
 
I now have the game, I shall start my endeavors soon enough (once Dota 2 releases my mind :D). Alias: Saint_Dee

Started playing, and its really fun. I have just been playing solo, but it's really good.

Couple of questions :
What do the ranks signify? ( I am level 0 but rank 3)
Is there any reward benefit in doing a mission stealthy?
Do I level my weapons with use or with completed missions (related to question above)

I picked up mods for my two guns, but I can't figure how to "equip" them. (they are "greyed out" in the mod page)
Are stealth kills an automatic kill? or only a boost in damage?

you, your warframe, weapons and sentinel (if you have one) all rank individually and have their own mods
the amount of xp each gains depends on how much it's used during mission

the couple of stealth kills I've gotten were instakills, not sure if they all are, but I do know some enemies especially the heavies can't be stealth killed
TIP: if you plan on doing stealth kills and have a sentinel, get the Shade! The Wyrm will ruin it for you.

Mods can only be equipped if your weapon/warframe has enough mod slots to do so, these increase as your weapon/warframe increases in rank. you can also spend plats on catalysts and/or generators to boost the amount of mod slots

ranking your profile is the biggest pain in the arse. I've logged about 20 hours and I'm only about rank 1.75 now. some items (warframes and weapons) are XP locked, for example you have to be Rank 2 to be able to get the Rhino warframe or the Gram long sword.

I downloaded it. Does this thing have an ingame patcher like every other mmo on steam?

hopefully after this weekend I'll have my second one. gonna grind to reach Rank 2 so I can get the Rhino

Your account rank (so to speak) will stay as is. your warframes have their own ranks
 
Leveling takes FOREVER. I am now level 1 after playing through the whole system.
It unlocks the next 2 systems. when I mouse over the different planets in those systems, it gives me a level (eg 5-11 or 3-8)

What does that indicate? obviously not overall level because I can still solo some of them.

yes ranking up does take a really long time. I think the mission leves are actually the rank of your Warframe, not your overall rank, otherwise you'd never leave Mercury :p
 
just a heads up to all Warframe players, there are a couple of Rapr Rewards starting to surface...
