The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

Watch it. Now. You'll be blown away by the visuals alone, the story left a few things to be desired but it was such a awesome movie you can forgive it.

The art style has a hybrid 80's slash pop art feel to it. With a lot of colour and shading as well as use of dark tones to make it stand out much more.

Watched it last night. Was planning on watching 30 minutes and then taking a nap but that didn't happen.

Finished it and one of the best anime movies I've watched to date. Ending sucked though...too abrupt.

I must investigate! :D

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san, which aired last year, and its second season, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W, which started airing 2 weeks ago.

I'm not usually a fan of over-the-top crazy and energetic girls, but I have to admit that Nyaruko herself kinda grew on me. She makes the show, really.

Season 1 is on my to watch list, which gets longer every few months.

There was so much more they could have done but they left a lot of doors open and didn't close them in the end.

I know but bare/bear in mind that every single frame of the anime was hand drawn (it took 7 years).

Was still damn awesome even if the story wasn't that great.

Hand drawn is still the best though.

Is the anime still ongoing? I'm enjoying the manga at the moment though.

Ended about a year ago last I recall, wish it went on the story got very good towards the end.

***EDIT

Well, seeing as how it will be near impossible to find the dvd/blu ray here, I'm guessing PB is the way to go. Can't wait for it though.

On another note, starting with SEL and Ergo Proxy, been awesome so far, especially after the GITS series disappointment.

I'll dowload the Blu Ray for the R18+ rating and then buy the DVD when it's printed for R1 or R2.

Word of Advice, rather buy anime from overseas than in SA. Firstly it's over priced here and secondly the selection sucks - thats if you can actually find anything. Berserk Film I "Egg of the king" DVD is about R243.64 Incl. Postage. Thats excl. VAT which will be about R30 so all in all it's about R270~. Which is not too bad considering what you get for the price, and the fact that it's no locally available in any stores.

GITS was awesome it's not as action packed as the films, it touches a lot more on the philosophical and meanings of people being ghosts and how life is being augmented vs non augmented.

I loved GITS, everything doesn't have to be skop skiet en donder to be good.

If you guys haven't watched Shingeki no Kyojin yet - make a plan. It seemed during the first one or two episodes that it was going to be one of those hidden gems, but somewhere along the line it said "Screw hidden" and ... this show is really, really good.

They managed to do something unexpected almost every episode.

i watched the 1st 5 episodes of it last night dam its good. Reading the manga today

I would advise you to skip the manga if you don't want to spoil the series for yourself. But then again watching the series will probably spoil the manga .... choices choices :p

+1 Episode 5 was the worst (best?) Cliffhanger ever!

Can't wait for Sunday:D

Not always happens that way, occasionally they will deviate from the story a bit to get better manga sales. Although from what I have watched so far it looks awesome!
