Why you should consider a Solid State Drive investment

Firstly, I really appreciated the article. I learnt a lot from that. Secondly, there isn't a reason any of us should not be saving to get an SSD into our rigs.

Faster porn of course :D

My pc literally bottle necked at my IO. Even at just sata2 it was better, but not awesome. Having upgraded my mobo... wow it just went into supa fast mode. Currently I use my SSD for my VM, Page file and my games. How many games can you play at once? So you really don't need something that big. Most people think that HDD = storage and that's it. If I can't fit my 500gb of britney spears on it then boo hoo... go away SSD :p

Any ways I have a Corsair Force GT 120 gb and its really good.

Agreed. For myself it was the piece missing for more smooth gaming.

Very interesting. I have a question I am hoping some fundie can answer. I read now in the comments of that article that SSD's can reduce stutter in games. Now, when playing MMO's like WOW and Neverwinter, and entering the big cities I experience some stutter. Where as when I port out into the wild it goes away and returns to extreme smoothness. As I run the game permanently on best possible graphics (On what some people may consider dated Gefore GTX-560TI :p ) and it never gives a issue I find it hard to believe that it is a GFX issue. Can this be attributed to HDD speed? or does it come down to connection speed(1mb ADSL, OpenWeb, only played afterhours).

Thanks

:)
