My First Morrowind Experience

So I played a lot of skyrim(+-1000hrs), lots of fun(with mods). I also played oblivian(xbox) a while back, but I have yet to experience morrowind and apparently it is quite an experience(or so I hear/read.
So to my question, to anyone still playing it. What mods would you suggest I install, or should I rather just play it in it's original form?
 
Ooooh, you're in for a treat. Morrowind is still the best in the series, IMO. There are loads of excellent mod guides out there, 5 minutes of googling will sort you out on that front. Most definately follow one of these guides, it really changes the game for the better. Well worth the effort.

That said, the vanilla game is far from broken. If you can't be arsed with all the mods, it's playable and very enjoyable, with a great story to boot.

Agree 100%, best in the series (relative to the time of course). Much more diverse world, and on top of that you can fly.
 
You should've started at MW & progressed to Oblivion & Skyrim.

Oblivion is great, but I'm not sure I could go back after playing skyrim.
 
Yeah, you should definitely try out Morrowind. Morrowind is what Elder Scrolls was all about. Skyrim and Oblivion are pale shadows of the awesomeness that was Morrowind.

You can try the Morrowind Graphic and Sound Overhaul. It updates the graphics sounds and a ton of other things. It also contains a lot of bugfixes. It can be quite performance intensive if you active the most advanced graphic features, though. Here's a few screenshots I took when I installed it earlier this year:

Just note, MGSO requires both expansions to work. Luckily I had the GotY on Steam, because my boxed version is only the base game.
