Xbox one revealed, next-gen console from Microsoft

The new Xbox One dashboard seen during the presentation is a tidier version of the current Xbox 360 dash, with tiles and categories laid out horizontally – reminiscent of Windows 8′s Metro UI.

The console and its controller looks great, but where the hell are the games? Looks like they're only showing 3 games. So disappointing.

Probably still in early development, I assume a lot of games will be ported to XBO, with "Enhanced" features. Also I wonder if XBO games will still have the Green box? Or will it be black like the console?

So no mention on backwards compatibility and always-on internet connection. Luckily E3 is around the corner so maybe more answers. But so far I'm very excited.

It's not backwards compatible.

Next-gen Xbox will not have always on requirements, see here.

But used games may not work, depends on what the publishers want. See here.

Thanks must've missed that part then. A little less excited now. Would have been nice to play must current collection on the new system.

Now, Kinect integrated in the console. So it'll have to be placed on a surface relative to most people's hip-to-shoulder height.

HDMI in/out ports

The HDMI in is what fascinates me, and is a hint as to why there is little known about the games. The new Xbox is being pushed as a services device more than just a gaming machine, where your media box-like features will take the spotlight.

Whitten claims that silent operation is a feature

Great news, more appliances need to learn this. However, this will make it run hotter...
