Grim Dawn

Anyone following this?

Finally got around pledging towards the project about a month or two back, but seems they are bit slow only info.

Yeah! I'm following as well. Watched a few videos and it certainly peaked my interest. Agree that there has been some delay, however, I'm looking forward to seeing where they are with the project.

Well if Alpha goes well and there isn't too much follow on tweaking I reckon we should see this game releasing before Christmas this year

Guess who just bought the game? R460 for it (yikes!) but it's from the people who made TQ, and I loved TQ.

Well, to be fair, this game has been in development a long, loooong time. I was scared it might become vapor-ware, hence why I waited for them to bring something solid to the table before I buy into it.

I was pretty much thinking the same thing before the release of the alpha.

You can buy it directly off their site. It grants you both a Steam key and a retail key for the DRM free version once it releases. A bit pricey, $50 to get alpha access, but I reckon it's worth it for the type of game this is.

So has anybody played any of the Alpha, would be nice if this game is worth getting more hyped about?

I did a blog post about it, but it's not very fleshed out as I was somewhat lazy.

cool, will check it out, shot

"As most of you would likely have played Titan Quest, you'll instantly notice that the atmosphere is a lot darker and more grim this time around. Considering the story starts off with you being possesses, then hung and then miraculously surviving, I think the change is rather fitting. You start out in the town, being assigned tasks by the person in charge of hanging you, and as you could have guessed, which enemies do you wake up to? The undead. Yep. No points for originality there. "

just check your grammar :p

but overall a titan quest in the future with a few tweaks?
In Titan Quest when you considerably stronger than the opponents you were facing when killing them they would fly up in the air as though you whacked them with an amazing baseball swing with strength of a super human giving that satisfaction to go back to the beginning to see how far you could make them fly. Can you do that in Grim Dawn? It was one of my favourite little additions that I had never seen in any other game.

All early-access backers can now play!

All early-access backers can now play!

As we mentioned in previous updates, due to changes in our development schedule, we've planned to open up access in th fall to backers with early access, including Pioneer, Epic and other equivalent tiers from KS. Well, the time has come and we've asked Humble Store to distribute Steam keys to everyone with that access level so that they can join in testing Grim Dawn and exploring the ever-growing game as it unfolds.

Keys should appear on people's Humble Store pages starting around 1pm. To claim them and begin downloading the game, please follow these instructions:

***Your Grim Dawn Steam key can be claimed from your Grim Dawn download page through Humble Store regardless of when or where you purchased. To get to your download page, enter your email address used to purchase/back Grim Dawn here: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/keyresender

You'll get an email with a link to your download page, and then you will be able to claim your Steam key.

If you have trouble retrieving your key or have changed email since the Kickstarter or your original puchase, you can contact Humble Store Support and they will help get you straighted out.

To obtain the build, simply retrieve your Steam alpha key from Humble Store and then add it to your game library on Steam using “Add a Game” in the lower left under the game list. From there, select “Activate a Product on Steam” and a box will appear that will let you enter your key. The game will then appear in your library and begin downloading. Once the download is complete, you can install and play.***

Additional Info:

Please note, there are two different types of keys, Grim Dawn installation keys, which will be used to install the final game if you do not activate it through Steam and then Steam alpha keys. Grim Dawn installation keys are longer and do not work on Steam. Here is an image of the two keys as they appear on a Humble Store page:
