Why? You are obviously an intelligent person and it is not as if you don't have anything to contribute. I've seen posts from a few lurkers now, saying how they prefer reading with only the occasional comment. This is unfortunate because "the more the merrier" is very true when it comes to the forums.

Too many readers, too little writers. :(

I love forums that are bustling hubs of activity.

That's very true. There is some sort of documented phenomenon where a persons skill is inverse to his confidence. Skilled people underestimate their own abilities while the unskilled are over confident. I can't recall the exact scientific name for it though, but it is real.
 
I post actively on the mybb forums instead, where I'm lovingly known as "that asshole from the competition thread" in one of the subforums. I don't game as much these days as I used to, so the mygaming forums are less relevant to me. I do most of my arguing in the comments section of another South African gaming news oriented site.

Also, I was boycotting mygaming for some time because I loathed one of their writers, who I believe has since left.

Can't disagree with that. I've given up my book reading time tonight to spend it on the forum.

And for the record, disregarding the TK is OK with me. It does have a way of inflating a post count rather quickly. But in the end, whatever the mods decide is cool.

Well sometimes I am a bit hesistant to type something if someone takes it the wrong way so I end up typing nothing usually so I stick to reading more.

Lol sounds like me, but I still find mygaming forums has something mybb doesnt.

Comps like these help to keep the forum alive and active. That's how I see it in my rational point of view.
 
I just hope after this it proves sustainable. Get some new guys sure but I'm hoping they stay active, James has cookies I'm sure

Still give away an Xbox and everybody crawls out the view count to comment

Already customised my avatar on mybb so its not that its more the community seems closer here and easier to make friends.

Mybb reminds me of WWII always fighting over little things causing commotion everywhere
