7 Days To Die Looks Virally Impressive

Minecraft with zombies is, well, Minecraft, but it’s also pretty much what 7 Days To Die could be described as. It’s a take on the zombie survival theme that also attempts to deliver a world that is as malleable as Minecraft’s blocky elysium. You can dig, destroy, build, barricade, and all that good stuff, as well as doing the shotgun business against the hideous undead. It’s Minecraft and DayZ being entwined after some horrible accident in the laboratory of zombie genre-blending. The developers sum it up, as so many games seem to have been summed up lately, by saying: “is an open world, voxel-based, sandbox game blending the best elements of FPS, Survival Horror, RPG and Tower Defense style games.”

Don’t take my baseless hum of cynicism as a reason not to take a look at the trailer, however, because 7 Days To Die looks genuinely impressive, and I can’t see this not making a huge impact when it arrives.

This actually looks pretty damn epic.

shot, it actually does look pretty good. You reckon it will use a very low level of system resources, thinking something addictive to run on old machines with LAN?

Not to sure yet, it does look like it could be a lot of fun. Also quite a different game.
As far as the LAN option goes, no idea. Would be awesome though!!

Also take into account this is Pre Alpha game play, Alpha is apparently slated for June 2013

lookin' good. What engine is it running on though? Looks kinda dated or are they trying to emulate that minecraft aesthetic?

Not sure on the engine, it does look a bit dated but I reckon the gameplay is gonna be pretty awesome.

The problem with these games are always that they're so far into the future. It feels like I always read about these awesome games people are making, but never actually get to play them. Same thing with Sir, You Are Being Hunted.

Well this is pegged for a summer 2013 release. So not that far away.

It's Day_Z + Minecraft. Seems like a bit of a cynical cash-in to me. I like the physics effects though. Minecraft always did beg for massive destructibility.
