I have never done advanced maths. Still, are you sure? 2x3=6 and 3x2=6. Ta-da?

A cross product is the vector expansion of multiplication.* Vectors are (simplified) just numbers that has a direction associated with it, like velocity or acceleration. If you need to multiply to vectors together, you have to take the individual directions of said vectors in account. The third picture on the wiki page, the gif, explains it reasonably well, I think.

*(In reality it's the other way around, multiplication is a scalar special case of cross products, but everyone gets taught the special case first, so it's more natural to think of it as the other way around.)
