Still got to find good quality 3ds sbs since the small sized videos (under 2 gb) seem so blurry and not in sync.

Its Active and a Samsung since I tried the LG 3d and wasnt happy with the passive.

Yip, you want a 720p at least. Just beware once you get your first content LR vs RL. My first movie was Piranha 3D. But default was LR and the movie was RL, so effects where... weird.
(LR means left right and RL means Right Left. You'll know what I mean when you see the setting).

Good thing you excluded Avatar 'cause that's first on my list every time. :D
1. Imax Bugs!
2. Rio
3. Avengers
These are only the ones I've watched at home. Once I get my my hands on "Life of Pi" it may change.

I prefer the active 3D plasma (the TV) because there is less ghosting and the picture "pops" more (meaning it comes out of the TV). This is not a myth, I've tried the same 3D movies on both the active and passive and it's good on passive but great on active. Downside is that you need a low-light environment with the active (to avoid flicker) while the passive is good everywhere.

Imax bugs? Is it a documentary?
Adding Rio to my watch list.
Avengers, remember seeing that in cinema :).
Still haven't watch life of pi...3d one coming up.
Ah awesome my tv is also active 3d (good choice there). :)

Yeah its a doccie about insects in the rainforests. There is also a bunch of good ocean doccies in 3D.

In dire need of a heater right now. Freakin' hailing 'ere in the Mother City.

Always collected bluray documentaries, are the 3d ones better?

Apart from the 3D aspect, I'd say they are the same. But these are Imax doccies, so they may seem a bit low on substance and heavy on the spectacular visuals. Haven't seen a 3D doccie that is Attenborough quality, but I am sure there must be.

Morning all
